This business is a complete joke and scam. I placed a service warranty repair for my Whirlpool washer through Whirlpool, and they contracted this business to complete it. The business never called, texted, or emailed me on the scheduled date for service. A service technician for the business, Michael āMikeā called the following day after I contacted Whirlpool to let them know I hadnāt received any form of communication from them, and he scheduled a new date for service. That day comes, and Mike is a no-show. Mike claimed he couldnāt make it to look at the washer because he had no other jobs in the area (Green Forest). Keep in mind this business is in Berryville, and the drive from my place to the business location is ten minutes or less, depending on traffic. Mike ended up telling me he was going to hold off on coming out to look at the washer because he did not have the part on hand and needed to order it. While on the phone with Mike, he also told me that he was going to charge me $175 to come out to look at the washer and an additional $210 for the part after Whirlpool had told me they were covering everything. After clearing up who the responsible party for covering the cost of the part/labor was, I called the business, and Ellen (receptionist) answered the phone. Ellen told me they were waiting for the part to arrive to get the job done, but her system showed that Mike had come to my place and looked at my washer. I informed Ellen that Mike had not come to look at the washer, and she was adamant that he had because thats what her system showed. I told Ellen that was false and that I had been home all day on this day that Mike allegedly had looked at the washer. Ellen got short with me and told me that he would come by once the part was in. Mike called me a few days later and told me the part had arrived and scheduled a day to get the service done. That day comes around, and once again, not a single word from Mike or the business. A few days pass, and I receive a call from Ellen while I am at work. I do not answer the call, and she leaves me a voicemail. In the voicemail message, she made it seem like I hadnāt been home on the days that Mike had, ācomeā and she expressed that Mike had the part and needed to get to the washer to complete the job. It baffled me that Ellen made it seem like I was the one making it difficult to get this job done. I called Whirlpool and let them know that this business has made zero progress in servicing my washer. The Whirlpool representative was shocked that they had not completed the job yet, considering that it had almost been a month since the service order was placed. I told the Whirlpool representative that this business was very shady and unprofessional. The Whirlpool representative agreed with me and ended up canceling the service order with this business. Immediately after getting off the phone with the Whirlpool representative, Mike calls me and tells me he has the part and wants to come out to get the job done. I told him to go ahead and cancel the service request on his end. I told him that I was done with the lies and that enough of my time had been wasted. Mike told me that he had done so much hard work for nothing and hung up. Whirlpool ended up creating/scheduling a whole new service order with Richardson Appliance Sales & Service in Harrison, and they immediately called me. Unlike this business, they ordered the washer part the same day they called and fixed it two days later when the part came in. All this is to say that the owner of this business needs to look into his/her employees, and if this is how this business operates, then avoid them at all costs. In my opinion, if you canāt or donāt want to accept the service order request, then donāt and be honest with customers. Nothing bothers me more than a business with lazy and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am appalled by the shoddy work, $125 cost, and lack of accountability or respect shown by this company for an elderly friend of mine who bought her dryer there, and later requested service because the dryer was taking 4 cycles to dry an average load. "I guess I'll need a new dryer," she said, "because the repair man said there is nothing wrong, but the problem persists. He said he just drained some water from the vent tube." I have the same model, so I took a look, and could immediately tell the air flow was warm but restricted. In 10 minutes I accessed the fan blades and found about a pound of lint slowing the blade. My friend took that to show the company and ask for an adjustment of the charge because the repair had not been thorough, but had no reply in over a week. I subsequently called twice over 2 more weeks and described to 2 people how I had easily repaired the machine, and asked for a call from the owner. A third time I called, I was told, curtly, without further explanation, a certified letter had just been sent. The letter from the owner stated a repair had been performed, and that cleaning and inspecting the vent hose was not part of the job [that was not the problem], and that proper maintenance was the responsibility of the owner. I then went and spoke to the owner personally to make sure she understood how inadequate their service had been, and that I thought at least a partial refund was in order. I asked if my calls were rude or offensive, and was told they were not. I pointed out that inadvertent, improper maintenance must be a mainstay of their business, to counter the shaming her certified letter had implied. She smiled and said she would review what went into the job and see what was appropriate. Another week has passed without any refund forthcoming or the courtesy of a phone call. In my business, if I disappoint a customer, or even if they encounter a problem we are not responsible for, I make an accommodation, and if that does not satisfy, I ask what the customer thinks is fair, to see if I can do more. Sadly, I found The Appliance Store to be nothing more than what I have described...
