Las Islas Berwyn — Restaurant in Berwyn

If I could give this place zero stars, believe me I would. As soon as we got here we were seated at a table which was great. We decided to try and get a table and they told us we needed to buy a bottle so we did. Once we were sat down they actually told us to move to another table. We didn’t really think much of it until the table we were getting moved too still had finished plates from the previous consumers that were there. They took a long time to have someone clean it off for us so we are all just standing there awkwardly. Once we finally got seated AGAIN, they took a lot of time for the sever to come and take out order. From the beginning it just felt like there were super unorganized. While we were still consuming there, they started to clean off our table of stuff we were still going to eat/drink! I don’t know what it is with all these Islas restaurants or if they are owned by the same owner but they definitely need to train their staff be better organized! If you’re in the berwyn area, I would honestly just got to Jardín. They have way better service and make you feel like VIP if you get a table. STAY AWAY...

So I get these tostastada chips with some ceviche and chopped Jalepenos. I pick up a chip to notice there were ants on the chips in the basket and on the plate the ceviche and chopped japs came on. I tell the closest server and she says IL change this for you takes the food and I just get up and go to a different table no sorry or any kind of reassurance. I order fajitas and oysters oysters were not at the right temperature forsure. I work at a restaurant I know those oyster were no where near 35 °to 41 °F. On top of that they were just oysters no salt seasoning or anything on top just plain oysters which I had drenched in hot sauce for some kinda flavor. I ordered mixed fajitas with shrimp steak and chicken. To my disappointment it was mostly vegetables with maybe 5 shrimp. Lastly I ask are server for more tortillas and she says ok goes to the bar looks at her phone the register chills for a sec watches some TV and then goes and gets the tortillas. Mean while I'm just watching my food get cold with...

The service was terrible even though we were her only table at 1pm on a Saturday. Spent most of her time at the bar. The food was good though. Ordered the fish tacos for my three year old, was brought out a fish filet and was told they didn't have tacos.....but like, it's literally on the menu and the waitress let me order it. Fix and update your menu! She had nothing to say, didn't even apologize. Luckily my toddler ate the food. Had to ask the waitress for a cup for water like 4 or 5 times until I got up to get it myself from the aguas frescas station. Tipped 10% because the other waitress (the petite one) looked like she was taking care of her tables and came over to clear our table. Honestly, I shouldn't even have...
