Forever Grateful for Lulu Florist
I cannot thank Lulu Florist in Bethesda enough. On the eve of my mother's funeral, after a heartbreaking mix-up by another company, I was in deep distress. Teleflora had delivered the wrong arrangement, and with the funeral the next morning, I was desperate for help.
I reached out to several florists, and only Lulu Florist, a family business, stepped up. Karla, the florist, and Amy, the owner, were so kind and empathetic. They asked me to come in, choose flowers from their limited stock, and within 30 minutes, they crafted a beautiful casket spray. Their compassion turned a moment of frustration into comfort.
There was also a young lady on their staff who kindly helped me fold down my back seat and made space for the spray in my car. In my distress, I forgot to ask her name, but I will forever be grateful for her help and kindness. Amy also took the time to show me how to carry and store the spray overnight.
If I could give them more than five stars, I would. Lulu Florist is more than just a flower shop; they truly care about the people they help. Their efficiency and kindness at such a dark hour meant the world to me. Thank you, Lulu Florist.
Notes on the photos: The first three pictures are the casket spray Lulu Florist's Karla and the kind young lady made for me. Just to show you the severity of the situation: picture 4 was what I actually got from Teleflora-- a small bouquet in various colors. And picture 5 was what I ordered: a white and green...
Read moreRead moreI decided to use Lulu Florist for Valentine's Day because I recalled my Dad using them before. Not a good experience. I bought a "Premium" Heart and Soul arrangement for 220.00 and a large box of chocolates for 40.00. Because of an error on their website, what I got was a completely different arrangement, also horribly marked up Ferrero Rocher chocolates that are valued at $12 at Target. My mistake for not leaving with a full refund instead that day, but I did not want to go home empty handed nor with grocery store flowers (probably the better choice next time honestly). They compensated with a different arrangement (which i foolishly took), but this whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth (I rarely leave bad reviews!). Wanted to give red flowers to my wife, but I left with a multicolored bunch without a vase. I probably would not have left this review if they had at least had given a discount on the completely different arrangement - I even asked why they didn't and they made some excuse about the amount of flowers/fillers they used. OG purchase was $275.60 - Went back to return the chocolates and they refunded 262.40 (not sure why they couldn't just refund the 40.00 instead) - then charged me again 233.20. So overall I paid 246.40 and lost 10.00 because of chocolates + took home a completely different arrangement than what I had hoped for. There are plenty of other florists between here (Rockville) and Bethesda that I can spend my hard-earned money on - won't be going back...
I am so thankful for the gorgeous flower arrangements Lulu Florist provided for my mother's funeral. Amie ensured the casket and standing sprays were cohesive and included my mother's favorite flowers and colors. We received many compliments on them, and the music director at the church in which the Funeral Mass was held said they were the most beautiful flower arrangements he had seen in a long time, which is saying something since the church frequently performs funerals. Amie also took the time to call me after delivering the flowers to the church and then sent me photos via text so I could see how they looked prior to my arrival. She made the process smooth and simple, and I am so grateful. I would highly recommend this florist. Thank you, Amie and Lulu Florist, for helping me honor my mother to the extent that she...
