Worst traveling experience in the United States. My husband is a professional pilot and we’ve been traveling around the world. This place reminds me of some of the accommodations in third world developing countries.
It’s NOT a hotel. It’s a commercial Airbnb accommodation. It’s advertised as a hotel on Booking.com for $ 149/day. But the actual charge was 263.98 because they charged EXTRA $100 for cleaning plus tax. You won’t see that until you pay. It’s definitely false advertisement, and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
We had trouble finding the location. It costs us at least half an hour of extra walk. The suites are located in an apartment building, where there are long-term residents. We followed the instructions to the address, however, the front desk doesn’t even know there’s something called “Global Luxury Suites” in their building.
It’s absolutely NOT a 4-star hotel standard. I had never been to a 4-star hotel suite where several outlets not working, and doesn’t have a stopper for the bathtub, doesn’t have a bed end for a king-size bed, doesn’t have an extra blanket for the pull-out sofa bed, doesn’t have a garbage bag in the kitchen. What we have in the living room is a wobbly coffee table with the glass top unattached to the frame. It could be dangerous for young children. The pipes in the laundry slot make loud buzzing noise from time to time, which is really annoying when anyone tries to get some sleep. The outside vent for the drier is all blocked, so the clothes won’t get dried properly.
The management is a mess. The management of the building has nothing to do with the management of the Suites; and the Building is not responsible for any problems we run into. I didn’t observe any coordination between these two except for the cleaning part. For any little problem we have to call the management of the Suites, where 8 out 10 times it went straight to a voicemail. When somebody finally calls back we have trouble understanding what they say due to their strong accents.
The check-out is a nightmare. One can not go anywhere without the room key, which the Suites management requests the customers to leave inside of the room when they leave. Without the room key we can’t even use the elevator since it’s a resident apartment building. Customers have to call somebody to lead them downstairs, and if nobody answers the phone immediately the customers would get stuck in the building for God knows how long.
With the price we paid for the room, we could have got a decent room from any good hotel chains such as Marriott or Hilton. If you want to pay more for more hassles, and are ready for prolonged reading just to check in, stay and check out, that’s your choice. But personally I would not recommend “Global Luxury Suites” to anyone who’s expecting a 4-star...
Read moreAfter I booked a room via Expedia, I received a long email contract from "Global Luxury" with disclaimers and such, asking for lots of personal details including date of birth. No other booking does this. The amount of paperwork is insane, then you are asked to confirm and reconfirm by email. ||||When I arrived, the building has no parking whatsoever for guests, no driveway for unloading, and it has NO STOPPING signs all around so unloading is a nightmare.||||After 1/2 an hour of runaround, we finally got our key which was a dud, the key fob wouln't open the door and we had to wait for management to come to reprogram the keys (another 1.5 hrs). ||||We made the booking for 3 person, and after we confirmed, reconfirmed, the booking for 3 people, they did not provide sheets or blankets for the 3rd person. When we called they said they will deliver it, but then 1.5 hrs later, no delivery showed up. We called again, and they said they weren't able to deliver a blanket and offered 40 DOLLAR refund. ||||We had to drive to Walmart to buy an inflatable bed, bed sheets, and a blanket for our child. ||||The apartment itself is nice and clean, but considering they called themselves GLOBAL LUXURY, there isn't anything professional or luxury about the checkin process, nor the basics. ||||If you cannot safely unload luggages, no parking, nor have a key which opens the door, or have blankets, this is unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend booking this unless if you are willing to...
Read moreI understand why these Suites have such a low rating! We booked it for 3 nights when we had to take our son to college. We were specifically looking for an accommodation that had parking and a washer/dryer. Although there is a 24-hour concierge, this person is useless as they cannot provide any help. We did not receive the parking pass although we called, texted and emailed. We were assured that it would be provided. My husband to get up continually through the night to move the car to avoid being towed as there were no other parking nearby. They FINALLY brought us the parking pass at 5pm when we were checking out the next morning. Although we liked the location because it was close to AU, the poor service, lack of parking and lack of working keys did not make up for the convenient location. Word of advice - do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else - somewhere that cares about its guests and where the staff can actually assist if problems arise. BTW, the entire screen in the bedroom was hanging off when we checked in - unbelievable for the prices that...
