The heavy set mixed girl who comes off slightly bipolar at the Bethesda location yeah....she's bad for business. I came in very friendly with a Louis bag and other items at 12pm on the dot when they opened and told them it was my first time selling(keep this in mind) and was told in a very friendly tone the wait would be about an hour. I said ok no problem! Again I did not know the process ahead of time so knowing I had to work , I knew anything passed an hour ill probably have to come back another day (no fault against them) It was ME who didn't know the timing and process before committing. So I go wait in the car. I look down and its 1:21 so I go back in and say "hey its my first time, I was told an hour, its about an hour and a half , is there an update so I can know if I should wait or go . THAT SIMPLE
The heavy set girl(the same one that quoted me the time earlier ) grabs her phone and front of everyone says in a very passive aggressive tone says " Well its 1:21, so it hasn't been an hour and a half, there are a queue of people and we get to people in the order they came, if you dont want to wait that's fine". WOAH Readers, 1hr and a half is 90 mins right? If I came in at 12 noon, 1:21pm would have been what? 81 mins . Its called rounding up in time. But again ,the time wasn't the problem , she was so focused on being passive aggressive and correcting me in front of everyone that she missed the ENTIRE point. I never said they were wrong for how long they were taking, never said it was them. I said it was ME. I asked for an update so I as an ADULT can decide if I had time to stay. THAT SIMPLE.
But instead she wanted to put on a show and play tit for tat on me being 9 mins off from "an hour and 30" that she lost the customer. I kindly asked for her to just give me my things and told her she was too passive aggressive to even get the point of what I was asking and left. Ive shopped at way higher end trading companies like WASTELAND (in LA) with wayyyyy better quality and selection of luxury items and way friendlier staff. This trading company isn't on the level to even be remotely rude to customers. I will never patronize this business again as their catty and unprofessional staff doesn't match what's even offered. I should have taken heed to their 3.5 reviews stating that the staff was...
Read moreFor my very first time in Bethesda, MD Reddz Trading my experience was quite dissatisfying. I scheduled a 4pm appointment in advance to sale clothing items. I arrived at my appointment on time and was told by one of the front desk employees to allow 20 mins to look through items. I arrived with two bags and by 4:07 less than 10 mins I received a call to return. Unfortunately, their policy only takes brand name items. Which is completely fine. Policies are policies. My issue is my bags were not looked at and returning home I realized, my folded items that I folded had not been touched. My clothing contributed of a mixture of brand and off brand items. If I received the proper service, they would have saw my brand name Prada shades, My Nordstrom jeans, and a few others things. Over 6 employees at the store at the time, and mediocre service. I don't appreciate following the procedures to been seen by Reddz Trading just to receive the service I got. Two bags in less than 10 mins the math does not add up. Even to not like the items for the store, my clothes would not have had the proper time to also be folded the way it was given and then given back to me before 4:10 at the latest. Waste of precious time! Moving forward if you decide to sale at Reddz Trading in Bethesda be aware to only bring brand items or put all your name brand items at the very tippy top! You cannot teach people to be genuine, or provide proper...
Read moreThere seemed to be some cute finds at Reddz and the assistants were helpful, but after trying on clothes for more than an hour I came away with nothing. Many of the clothes were simply priced too high, and quite a few were damaged. All of the clasps had been broken on one skirt, there was a dress with subtly ripped lace, and a dress that had a hole on the front skirt.
Furthermore, I was quite surprised to find a number of pieces being sold that were dirty and/or had clearly been worn directly before being consigned. They had wrinkles from being worn and not washed, spots, smears, and one dress even had deodorant all over it. I let one of the clerks know and she said that they don't clean the clothes, and she didn't seem overly concerned about the dress (which was pretty gross). I guess I don't expect consignment shops to thoroughly clean clothes but I would expect some minimum care to be taken to at least steam or sanitize them. I've been to a ton of consignment shops (and thrift stores!) and never seen anything like this, even at Goodwill or Salvation Army.
Mine wasn't the only sub-par experience: my sister bought a dress sold as designer there (Josie Natori) that was actually a knockoff... instead of "Josie" the tag said "Joie" in the same writing. : ( I came away with the impression that the employees/owner don't put a lot of care or work...
