Final update from reviews below. By chance, I met Loyd today while returning items. Without going into specifics, I would say Loyd took care of me like I expected, but it very rarely happens anywhere. Meeting Loyd made me take another look at how harsh I sometimes can be reviewing. I saw a manager that without a doubt, mentored his employees and set an exceptional example. I believe he honestly cares that each customer experiences the service he provided to me today. His employees don't realize how fortunate they are to learn from Loyd . His example can be followed in every facet of life, from external to internal customers. If he could get his employees to follow his lead better, he would be the only hardware store open in a fifty mile radius. First review. I have had two bad experiences and one ok experience when calling about product availability. Nothing from those experiences screams that I need to step foot in this store. If your answer is for me to come by and look to see if it's what I need. It's probably not worth my time calling or going by. In addition to that, the person that initially answers the phone could be friendlier. Furthermore, if the person that initially answered calls can't answer a question, he or she should just ask what department the caller needs. I don't like explaining to someone in detail to just be passed on. Feedback is only valuable when someone cares. UPDATE I decided to stop by and see if I can get a few things I need today. That's a good thing since I can add photos. Lisa stepped in without being asked and helped me diligently to find several items around the store. I asked a gentleman who was not busy where the item was at, and he spouted off 4 different isles I should go look on. Well, thank you, Lisa. The guy should follow your leadership . I'm going to raise the star rating from 1 to 3 just because Lisa...

I usually just get pointed in a direction, told "its in the back of the store", or something in that general line. And when you can actually get an employee to show you where an item is, it's as if it's the most difficult task in the world for them the actually help a customer. This is from many, many trips to this store, as it's the only real hardware store in my town.
The warehouse employees are excellent however, always willing to help load wood or materials.
Example being: Went in today looking for plexiglass, and after looking for about 15 minutes I tried asking, only got pointed to a genral area of the store and told "over there". Of which I had already looked where he was pointing. I know its possible they were out of stock, but it was impossible to tell with how some of the isles are just impossibly disorganized. It was a bit busy, but I had patiently waited in line to get some help. Ended up walking out after a total of 45 minutes of searcing or waiting. Will be buying...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent there yesterday midmorning to get a gallon of paint, although there was only one other customer in the store, i was told i would "just have to wait a minute" while the woman that works in paint finished gossiping. after five minutes standing there listening to gossip i turned around and left. Went across the street to Ace hardware where they had many customers, but an employee asked to help me within ten seconds, went directly to the paint department, found what i wanted and i was out of there in three minutes. Now that's good service! I've always gotten good service when getting lumber and such at higgi's, but evidently they don't hold the women inside to the...
