Recently found out that this store buys ALL of the Pokemon TCG (and likely MTG) products available at the local Target location and resells it for TRIPLE the price in their own store. I inquired about the pricing of a Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box (a hot item in the Pokemon space currently) which sells at Target and other big box stores for the price of $49.99. The man in KAB told me they would sell it to me for $150. $150 is 3x the price of what they scalp it for from Target, and $30 more than the average price from online sources. I will personally never be purchasing scalped product from this store and I encourage everyone reading this review to do the same. A store that removes the ability of its community to buy a product at a reasonable price and instead buys up all available stock of it and resells it for triple the price instead of sourcing their products through wholesale factory distributors is a greedy and unethical business. They also fought back against Target for imposing a purchase limit on TCG products to prevent scalping (at least that’s what word of mouth around Billings says). Come here if you love scalping and...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I decided to get into pokemon cards we have been collecting for probably 3-4 months now. Recently we fell into a hard time with my dog and his vet bills so we considered selling a few we had worth some money. The only place my boyfriend and I have bought journey together is Kabs collectibles and I will be digging for the receipt. When we bought a pack last he pulled a Lillie trainer full art. We originally really wanted that to be our first card we got graded until the vet bills. I took that Lillie card in a penny sleeve and hard sleeve in today to see if we could get anything to help us out. within a min the man told me it was a fake card. Which is crazy coming from the store we bought the pack it came out of and zero explanation just back to his game. I checked with dragon egg games as well. They went above and beyond. the kindest person explained and showed me a similar card from the same set and what to look for in fake cards. However I will not be quiet about this. this is what’s wrong with the card community. Terrible customer service and admits to...
Read moreI’ve been a regular here and usually had good experiences, but this visit left a bad taste. I came in with a decent-sized box of 90s sports cards. The store was busy with players, and the employee was at a table playing too. When I asked about selling, he asked the card years, and after I said “90s,” he said they weren’t buying unless it was rare Jordans—without even looking at the box or pausing his game. I actually had Jordans in there, but it felt pointless to mention since he clearly wasn’t interested. I don’t expect every card to be valuable, but I at least expected someone to take a quick glance (10 minutes). Just a couple days earlier, I stopped in to ask if they bought sports cards and was told yes, they’d take a look and see if there was interest. This experience was the opposite. I left feeling like my time didn’t matter, and I’m not sure I’ll be back. This totally impacted my view of them as a customer. Hope this...
