I had to bring a couple of diamond, platinum, gold and white gold diamond rings in for repair and sizing not that long ago. I'm not originally from Montana, and my family has a connection with an awesome Jeweler where I'm from. This family friend took great care of my rings. He also was quick and cared for my jewelery with my feelings in mind. I felt very cared for and had full confidence in his ability and character. However, having been removed from SoCal for some time, when my next jewelry needs arose, I was not interested in shipping my jewelry anywhere, and so I shopped around, calling jewelers in Billings to see who I felt I could trust to handle my needs locally. I asked each one how they operated, what their turnaround time was and if my requirements could be met. They were all friendly and informative over the phone, but only the crew at Berkman Custom Jewelers seemed willing and able to consider what I truly needed. I decided to bring my rings in to give them an idea of the work required so that we could schedule the service ahead...they gave me an option that would take a few days, but as I don't live right in town, that would have been a challenge to schedule. I explained this, along with my past history with our family jeweler, and immediately Shane, the owner and Master jeweler, told me that he would now be my family jeweler, and care for me in a way that matched with my previous experience. He arranged to repair and resize on my schedule (which amazingly happened to be MUCH sooner than I expected) and in a way that made me feel very comfortable! My rings were gorgeous when completed, fit as I had requested, and I'm still very grateful for the help Shane and his companions provided me. They made me feel right at home, were pleasant, courteous, and professional. Shane is absolutely amazing! Me and at the time my soon to be fiancé went to see him knowing we weren't 100% sure what we wanted for her Engagement Ring. After spending some time with Shane looking at all of his options he could make for us, we eventually picked out a beautiful Princess Cut Dimond that he ordered in for us to look at and make sure we liked before we made any commitments, as soon as it arrived (the next day) we went to look at it and I immediately knew it was the one! Shane was amazing to work with to find what we loved that fit my budget and educated us on quality of the Dimond and the differences in quality and prices, which after talking to Shane it was no question on which Dimond to pick out! We then picked a setting that we loved and we couldn't have been happier! In no time at all Shane had the Ring ready for me to pick up! I couldn't be more happy that we made the decision to go to Berkmans and meet with Shane he was amazing the entire time and very patient and educational so that he knew we would pick out what we truly wanted! Amazing service. Berkman Jewelers has earned my business. I left a train wreck of hodgepodge items for appraisals for insurance purposes. Seriously, this jumbled mass of accumulated pieces over the years was in NO WAY any sort of collectors pieces or had any value, except to me. And, since my homeowners only covers $1500 in jewelry without an appraisal- I headed in. They made sense of it all; carefully cleaning and assessing each and every jewel in each and every piece as if I’d left the Hope Diamond in their care. When I went to pick up the appraisal paperwork- each item was meticulously documented and it’s value carefully explained to me. I never felt less than or belittled because I certainly do NOT possess anything of extreme value. Their care and attention conveyed a deep understanding on their part of what the items mean to me, even if they paled in comparison by dollar value to the Hope Diamond. For this... I’ll keep coming back.

PS- They DID discover a hidden gem in the bunch... a piece I thought was worthless except for sentimental reasons, actually had value. So very...
