We are family owned and operated . we keep it small and simple yet we have hundreds of natural herbs and combinations. We have the largest variety of loose herbs in Alabama. Golden Temple and employees are our friends good place for convenience.. Health Foods West on the other hand has more combined knowledge than any place u you could ever visit. Three generations work there daily we no longer have outside employees.. We are here to listen. help, learn and have a place you can come study and enjoy what life has to offer ... This was my first and last time visiting the store. The lady answering the phone wasted my time and gas AND she was completely unprofessional.

I called and asked about an herb and the lady said they had it. I drove to the store and she tells me and the employee assisting me that it was on the wall. We look and don't see it. The lady walked over and looked but she couldn't find it either. After I expressed frustration the lady lied and said that during our phone conversation she didn't say that she definitely had the herb.

Other stores, like Golden Temple, actually take the time to check for an item when a customer calls. I was hoping to be able to patronize a store on my side of town but not with this poor service. Hopefully this lady, she was short with curly dirty-blonde hair, doesn't own the store and maybe management can provide her more training or replace her (Really wish I'd asked her name but oh well). There are items used for cooking and baking. Knowledgeable employees with answers to your questions, and time to help you. This store has been open for 50 YEARS! The store had been plagued by fire, but is rising up from the ashes, better than ever.
