Food Giant Meat Depot — Local services in Birmingham

This was my first and last time in this store. I entered the store to buy something to cook for dinner and cash back. When the door open I was meet with two things, a awful order and BPD working security. The smell of out dated produce and meats changed my mind. I grabbed a banana and a bottled water and proceeded to the register. There was one person in line they had paid and was waiting...the cashier began to read a receipt and then walked away from the register, Without acknowledging the customer she was assisting. She went over to the officer telling her to go after someone who hadn't paid for their water. Now the other customer she was assisting told me he has been standing there waiting for cash back for 15 to 20 minutes and he's running late for work. When she returned he asked for his cash back and very rudely she snapped at him and said I know I haven't given you your money..... A couple of minutes later she took her sweet time to give it to him. The person who had not paid for the water returned . The water was inside the cart not under the cart. He has several other items that were in bags and not in bags he stated to her I am sorry I had no idea they were not rang up. She stated to him that you know you ain't paid for that ,with a lot of aggression. He said it was in the cart in clear sight I'm sorry if you did not ring it up. She said you will not blame it on me , as if I have not done my job. So a couple of minutes back I got out of her line and went to the next register. The lady in that line said it was her first time in the store and she would never return again. I purchased my water and banana and entered for cash back at the end of the transaction the young lady was new and being trained when she saw $20 change she did not know what to do, I stated to her that I had asked for cash back .The woman ran over there.. talking under her breath to me saying you shouldn't have took yourself to the line of a new person don't know what they doing..😡 I told her I got out of your line because you were very rude to me and everyone else. She said I am not rude, I said please give me my money back so I can get out of this store and make sure I never...

LOW PRICES. They only charge a customer 10% over what they pay to bring the food to market.

CONSISTENT HOURS. 8 to 8. Count on it!

BUSY STAFF because it's hard to make a profit only asking 10% over cost.

Yes wax on the floor discolors the tile, but trust that you would rather have the wax. The store was bought a few short months before it opened, so there are no major renovations that the customer has to compensate the store for.

And YES they stock during the day but they RARELY run out of anything on the shelf unless the demand is HIGH because the sale is AMAZING.

The 6 (total) checkout lanes are adequate, but sales can go through the roof around the lunch and just around evening rush hour.

Plan accordingly, it is how ANY shopping experience goes. And as usual, buyer beware - know what you are...

First time going in the store I was so excited that know I don’t have to drive across town. When I first went into the store I couldnt believe my eyes it was so ghetto looking and it smell like raw meat. The store was not at all inviting and appealing the manager was even very rude ,I even brought some old food and milk that was even sour I I had to return it . The food I returned the manager would not take back after rubbing his bare hands over it and then he ask to see my bank statement to see how much I had spent in the store when I told him know he laughed in my face . And threw the pizzas it in the garbage can this manager should have done the right thing and exchange the pizzas . I will never shop in this nasty store again ..this does not even deserve a...
