I got there at 845 and at 859 the staff were chasing me from department to department shooing me out of the store "were closed now sir" they said.
I needed a trailer hitch deck for the family spring break road trip and I was also looking to update my wardrobe of spring outerwear. They were so determined to close as close to 9 as possible that I couldn't spend the 200 I was planning on jackets. I bought several items in haste but I am not happy with them and they will be returned Monday afternoon.
I remember working for sears in 1997 and we were not allowed to tell customers that we were closed. if someone needs to be there to finish shopping you let them. The end of day store announcement reminded customers that the store regular hours were from 8 to 8 and that store employees would be happy to help with your final selections... Never did they say closed.
Blains staff were bordering on rude... Not letting me shop and not really helping me with any final selections. there goal of customer service was out the window at 8:59pm and there only goal was locking down the store.
I told the lady how it used to be at sears and she Sayed something to the effect "that's not how retail is anymore"
I love farm stores and tool stores. And I really want to love Blaine's but there selection is not that great... Alot of standard premium brands but at a tall price. After this experience I think I am done
While TSC does have a line of stuff that is more less "harbor freight" level stuff they also have the premium brands and at a better price then blains.
Not going back to be treated rudely while paying full...
Read moreMammoth amount of items they offer! Some prices in line with the average, some higher. I found that I will still need to shop at TSC for some items, as Blain's did not carry them. Other items I can get at Blaine's. Check out was slow, my only real "complaint". A minor one. Won't stop me from shopping there.
Edit: I reduced a star. My husband and I went in and purchased a Danby Stand Up Freezer, on raincheck because they were out, so we could get one and at the sale price. It's the perfect size freezer for us and I'm familiar with the quality of the Danby brand(which is a rather unknown brand, but is actually excellent). The associate who assisted us in that department told us they would have more in in about 4 days. That was almost 2 weeks ago. I have called twice, the customer service associates have been very nice, but the first time I was told they were "in route", so likely here on Monday or Tuesday. Yesterday, Wednesday, I called again because no call about my freezer, and I was told that they had 6 coming, but no idea when, as they had no idea what was on each truck until it arrived. This person did apologize for other associates giving me time frames. So, now I just have to wait until they eventually get to the store and they will call. So, a word of caution with ordering or getting a rain check on an item/s there. They seem to have no way of knowing when your item will arrive. I still like the store, but I will hesitate to order anything thru them...
