Glengary Shopping Center — Local services in Blendon Township

This place has had its ups and downs over the years but it's a great little shopping center. Aldi's is a good grocery store while Subway, China House, and Domino's have been there forever it seems. The bars are quite nice (usually), and the Family Dollar and Dollar Tree are okay for some simple stuff. A card shop (Warp Gate) moved in to and it's an excellent hobby shop for people who like D&D and Magic: The Gathering. I've been going to the carry out there for decades and it's the same as it ever was.

I also appreciate the work they put into cleaning the place up. The parking lot has been recently repainted and the storefronts all got makeovers. There's a barbershop college there now that does haircuts for pretty cheap (training the next generation).

It definitely looks a LOT nicer than it did five years ago, and it's a surprisingly diverse little strip mall. It's nice...

It's still not a major shopping area. The biggest draw is Aldi's. The shops have changed over several times. Just tried Delaney's Diner for the first time today. That is a total hidden gem in the shopping center. Definitely worth going there. Now that Aldi's is building a new store where the movie theater used to be, that leaves another empty eye sore building in the shopping center. Doesn't help the shopping center revitalize if businesses are moving and building new store fronts off to the side of the shopping center. Unless something else takes over that old Aldi store space, it's going to continue...

There is a nice little carryout with tobacco, beer, lottery, etc. Aldi's is very clean & keep the lines moving for fast check out. There is also a Family Dollar, however, I have never been able to use a cart there (in 2 years) due to the fact that the aisles are ALWAYS blocked with inventory that never seems to get stocked. Several smaller businesses that I have not been in. Beware of the HUGE pot hole if using the exit to Dempsey. It is on the right, directly in front of the closed down car wash. I have seen several people damage...
