Ocean State Job Lot — Local services in Bloomfield

I have had a consistently unpleasant experience at the Bloomfield Job Lot. Employees for the most part ignore you entirely, esp at checkout. They are more concerned with their private conversations and irritation about customers. Not good! Very low Christmas inventory and what they did have was in the very back of the store. No worries, I won't use my Christmas budget at your store. Especially not after a disgusting bandaid was on an item which I saw at checkout and when I wanted a different one due to the gross bandaid on it, employees rolled their eyes and laughed. I definitely didn't find it funny at all, it was gross. I had my mother-in-law with me, she has severe end stage dementia. I'll never take her to that store again. Every other store I've taken her to has been kind to her. Shape up Job Lot, this is very, very bad. I won't be back for a long time and then, if at all, only as last resort and to see if things have improved. Just a guess... but unhappy and unhelpful employees are usually a result of very bad leadership. Treat your people better and they will treat your customers and store very well. It's rare I leave a bad review, this store warranted it. Save yourself an unpleasant trip here if you can help it. There are so many other stores out there with better selections and way better customer service. I won't waste any more valuable time at a store where no one cares, you won't find what you need, and you risk catching something from...

Bargain and adventure shoppers unite!

If you know me you know I love OSJL and bargain shopping. They are a closeout retailer that sells all sorts of products, from furniture to food to clothing to shoes and more. The prices are very affordable and budget friendly. They always have random items come through; for example, seaweed snacks and unique hot sauces.

Every season, they stock up on items pertaining to that season. For example, right now, there are shovels, gloves, jacket, and more, since it's winter time. If you sign up for their insider's club, you can get coupons.

This particular Job Lot is located in a plaza. The parking lot is huge. The store was large also with plenty of space to walk around with a carriage. The store was organized and my favorite section is their food area. There were no lines when I went and the cashier was friendly. I visited this location with the intent to shop and make purchases, but unfortunately left without buying anything due to the unprofessional and disengaged attitude of the staff. From the moment I entered, there was little acknowledgment or willingness to assist, and the overall demeanor came across as disinterested and even rude.

Customer service is a vital part of any retail experience, and in this case, it was severely lacking. A store can have great products and prices, but if customers feel unwelcome or undervalued, they will take their business elsewhere. If this level of service continues, Ocean State Job Lot risks losing not just occasional shoppers, but long-term loyal customers.
