Hyland Greens Golf Course — Local services in Bloomington

I want to give this course 5 stars, but unfortunately there is a member of the staff that has given me trouble more than once. I love this course, I come here pretty much every week, and the rest of the staff is really great.

The taller man with glasses that works in the club house has twice now lied and told me I was late for tee times I was early for. Today for instance I showed up at 5pm for my 5:12 tee time. My brother and I paid and were then waiting for the two tee times ahead of us to tee off. Everyone was on time and there seemed to be no issues.

The tall gentleman with the glasses then comes out and barks at us “you know you are teeing off with them, right?” Pointing to the 5:04 group. I explained to him that we are the 5:12 group and that no one said that to us when we paid. Again, it was not particularly busy and everyone was on time.

The tall man with glasses then informed me that we were teeing off with the 5:04 group because I had showed up “so late”. I told him that I was 12 minutes early and that it wasn’t even 5:12 yet (our tee time). At which point he walked back into the club house and we decided to just play with the 5:04 group.

I understand that sometimes it is necessary to do pairings, but it seemed to me that this incident happened due to the poor timing/planning of this man. This is the second time he has done this, and there have been other times where I have gone alone in the morning and he has tried to pair me up with people when the course is practically empty.

This is my favorite par 3, and I will continue to come here, but I hope management tells this man to lighten up AND to tell the truth. It really can throw a game off when things like...

This place is awesome to practice your game with your irons. The driving range is one of the best in the area, allowing you to hit off of the real grass or mats. The grass on the range is set up just like the fairways, so it doesn't give you the feel of trying to hit a ball around your backyard similiar to other driving ranges in the metro. The course is very well kept for a Par 3 course. I go here every Saturday morning to hit a jumbo bucket of balls and play 9 holes...

Really disappointed. Website says they close at sundown for range. Got all the way out to range shop and attendant rudely informed us range was already closed (despite many golfers playing still). He told us 'there is a sign'. On our way back to the car we spotted the small, dinky sign about a foot off the ground. Dinky course, closes whenever they feel like they wanna be done working. Not worth the...
