Amazing Momo — Restaurant in Bloomington

I ate at Amazing Momo on May 7. I came in to eat here during my lunch. I found Amazing Momo on Google and was impressed with their reviews. I don’t know how this restaurant has 4.8 stars; I did not have a 4.8 stars experience. I ordered the red curry with shrimp. I was asked if I wanted brown rice with my meal; I asked if that was an extra charge and was told that there was no extra charge for brown rice. When I looked at my receipt, there was a $2.00 charge for the brown rice. This would not have bothered me except that my lunch cost a little more than $20.00. I took the picture of my lunch after only a couple bites. There were no more than five or six shrimp in the meal and very little in the way of vegetables. For $20.00, I would have expected something like nine or ten shrimp and a plate of curry with a lot more vegetables. What added to the overall experience was the condition of the parking lot. In the parking area near Amazing Momo there was a lot of dirt, gravel, dirt, and debris. Absolutely beautiful in every way, down to the authetic food to the delicious tastes I will be back over and over again. Had such a lovely experience and so glad I went to enjoy the morsels of food. Overall so impressed, was happily full and beyond ecstatic to have experienced amazing momo. Do not sleep on this restaurant if you are hankering some tummy filling goodness. I had the poke bowl (out of this world) and an order of momos (mixed all flavors), the Tibetan butter tea, and mango rice desert... boy howdy 🤠 was i a happy camper last night after a long day. Such a beautiful dinner enjoyed and I cannot wait to be back to try the rest of the menu. You are incredible and I was seriously so impressed by the love felt through your dishes. Such wonderful flavors, tastes and experiences enjoyed I will be bringing the whole of my favorite people to whats become one of my new favorite spots! 😋 wonderful, aesthetically pleasing, and brilliant display of service, quality, and care felt from start to finish of acquiring my meal. Updated: after reaching out to the restaurant they took our concerns seriously and investigated how the gluten could have gotten into the dishes, and suggested a change they can make in the future to avoid issues. They also offered a full refund.

This was my second time eating here, first for my husband who is gluten free. We loved the curries (red curry and Panang curry) and I enjoyed my poke bowl on a previous visit. Flavors are great and priced well! I wouldn’t order the fresh spring roll again - it was okay. I’ve enjoyed the momos before but we avoided those as they didn’t have any gluten free versions on the menu.

Unfortunately the gluten free labeling on their online order system does not appear to be accurate. My husband is very ill with the symptoms we’ve seen before from a gluten reaction, despite ordering exclusively items that were marked gluten free. I hope Amazing Momo can review their menu labeling and food handling practices. I’d love to come back but my husband will likely not be willing to eat here...
