update 09/01/2024 Very conniving Went from 3 stars to 1 star because I have issues with how things are advertised. I have had more than a handful of times when the in-store deals (not the digital coupon) do not ring up as advertised. When asked to honor the price as advertised on the yellow or blue promotion tag on the aisle, the store personnel would go through the paper copy of the weekly deal pamphlet and say it is not showing up. Then they would either ask the customer to leave things behind or have a different employee to go to the aisle and verify/take a picture. It seems they have a standard operating procedure regarding such scenarios where the price rung is not congruent to the price advertised. Which makes me wonder whether this store employs predatory tactics to exploit human emotions in a public setting (For example, Oh wow that guy is really making a deal over few bucks and holding up the self checkout line.) I understand that this is a big store, but if your tags are outdated or if there is an error on the business end, it should be the business' priority to ensure the customer's smooth shopping experience, unless profit-margin is the ONLY priority. Just imagine the people who either do not care about checking price, too shy to speak up who get the short end of the stick... It will add up and that is why I am speaking up about this rather strange issue that has become prevalent in this store.
First review: 3 stars Id give the grocery store 5 stars but the money services dept royally screwed up. I got a roll of quarters and it was short 49 cents. That means missing a quarter and a surprising penny was in my roll of quarters... Someones...
Read moreJust after midnight I went in the Kroger at 1175 S College Mall Rd, Bloomington, IN 47401. I had a cart full of groceries and was told after midnight they only allow self-check out no matter how big the order. I ask if the attendant of the self-check out could ring me up or someone open a register. She said no that is their policy all the time. The lady behind me had a lager cart and just walked out. (I'm sure both of our carts items added up to at least two employees salary for a week.) Because of winter weather I took the burden on to check myself out. The bagging area could not contain my bagged items and I had to clear it 3 times. Each time I removed a bag the weight sensor sent an alert that the attendant had to clear multiple times. This store is union and I feel that at least one person should be available for big orders and disabled people. I doubt they would just be standing around and a need is there. This is the largest Kroger in Bloomington and yet every other Kroger that is smaller in the same town offers one cashier. I will never shop there again which is the only way to make a difference. An apology from the company with no changes made is not sufficient. I will also take my prescription sales away too. I surely will decrease around $2000 a month in sales from this company. I am satisfied. We will see if they change their ways but I will not...
Read moreThis store is an atrocity to anyone seeking a pleasant retail experience. You spend 45min-an hour doing your shopping and there’s not a soul, not one, to assist you in checking out. So there you are with a cart full of goods and you have to do it yourself with a tiny little work space and only room for four bags...Oh and when you ask for some assistance to get someone to work at the real register you’re met with an unflattering and equally incompetent associate who acts like the world is ending because you took her away from her precious cell phone to answer an inconvenient question. I asked for some assistance and the response was cold and rude “You can do it yourself and if the area gets full you can put the bags in the cart.” I then ask for a manager as this is totally unacceptable treatment of a customer and as such that of the employee. After waiting almost fifteen minutes for a manager and multiple pages for one I more than irritated left the store. So God help you if you decide to come to this store after bankers hours, for if you do you’re on your own. I have also called Kroger’s Customer service line and gave them quite the earful, and I’ll be making sure everyone knows who incompetent, and overall worthless this store and it’s...
