Valley West Shopping Center — Local services in Bloomington

I love this place. Always visit the Cub foods. Friendly employees. Hallmark is always nice to get cards for any occasion at. Dollar tree be that spot... And tbh if they'd let me I go hang out at the bounce house place.... Only issue I've ever had was when the value village manager followed me and my girlfriend out of the store assuming we stole something, because we both had backpacks... So I walked back in and told him if I wanted to steal something I had no problem doing it. fact of the matter was I had money to buy the few things I was looking at, but chose not to make a purchase ... I very much understand retail theft is a thing and is getting out of hand in many ways, but also having worked In loss prevention for walmart, there are certain things you refrain from doing and that approaching a customer assuming they stole something, and physically restraining them. If you believe someone is shoplifting you as loss prevention or the manager have a right to verbally trespass them from that location or immediately call law enforcement. Never approach or mediate with a suspected shoplifter. Look at recent events at the liquor store on snelling avenue in Saint Paul, for example. A realistic, and could've possibly been a fatal outcome to this...

Valley West contains plenty of great shopping and food options. Our favorites here are Cub, Grand Szechuan, Arc's Value Village, Papa Murphy's, and Jerry's Do It Best, although there's definitely more to the mall than just these. The mall area (not inside a store) is always clean and safe. While I don't have any big complaints, the only thing to look out for are some icy sidewalks in the winter. It's normally well salted, but we've experienced a couple of icy patches in the past. Overall, though, Valley West is convenient, maintained, and has a great selection...

In comparison to the many other Cub Foods I've shopped at, this store has a much smaller selection of the products I enjoy. The layout and design of this store is counterintuitive and in serious need of an update.

I was told by an employee when I was unable to locate a common product, that the difference in the selection of products stems from the fact that this store is "not a corporate Cub, rather it is a Jerry's Cub". This store was previously open 24 hours, but now closes each...
