Absolutely must visit. When I was younger my only expereince with them was their booth at the State Fair, the food was amazing and although they had a locayion in south minneapolis where I grew up, I never did visit but alway wanted to so we drove past this location and had to try. It briught back memories and the food is amazing. The hummus is so smooth and perfect. They have fresh pita chips, humus and fresh hot sauce (which wasnt super hot) for sample. The staff was super friendly, knowledge and welcoming. It was the owner's son and a female working the counter. Our meals were amazing. The balklava was great. This is a great location and will be a go to for us. The one note is the parking lot is very busy, people are always flying in and out, from the other two busy places of chipolte and jimmy johns. Handicap paroing is limited and the wgole beughborhood is full of lots of crazy driving maneuvers so if you arent from the area, take it slow...
Read moreI have been dining at Falafel King for many years. The restaurant truly encapsulates the essence of Mediterranean cuisine. Their love for the region and its flavors is evident in every dish they serve. The diverse menu offers a range of signature selections catering to meat lovers and vegetarians. The Gyro Falafel Combo, a medley of hummus, falafel, gyros, and Mediterranean salad served with tzatziki and tahini sauce, provides well-balanced flavors. For those who prefer chicken, the Chicken Shawarma Bowl is a must-try—served on a bed of rice, roasted potato, or mixed salad with a drizzle of garlic sauce and tzatziki sauce. Vegetarians aren't left out, either. The Vegetarian Combo, which includes a spinach pie, hummus, falafel, Jerusalem salad, and Mediterranean salad served with tahini sauce, is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to cater to all dietary preferences. My favorite side dish is the grape leaves. I...

My fiance thought the pita was somewhat difficult to eat with braces because it's more crispy than other pita (comparing the pita to Naf Naf, for example). We would have preferred our lamb shawarma pita pocket to have hummus in it, but we forgot to ask. We overheard the other customers in the restaurant comparing Falafel King in Bloomington, MN to Byblos in Burnsville, MN and they stated that Falafel King is a lot more "like their childhood"...
