In the past two weeks I have been shopping for prom dresses in three different Macy's: Galleria Mall, Coral Springs Mall, and here in Boca Mall and this store was the one where we finally said yes to the dress.
I first saw what was to become the dress in Coral Springs but they were sold out every size except 2. From there we spent hours going through Galleria mall without finding anything. Finally the prom is tonight so last night was do or die time.
We headed up to Boca Mall and started with Macy's. Since prom season is almost over they were having a nice sale on the dresses. Most were at least 20% off and some were even 40%. They still had a nice selection of dresses in various sizes unlike Coral Springs which only had very small or very large sizes left. They even had a full rack of the white dress that first drew my eye at Coral springs. It's price was a little higher than what I wanted to spend but the discount brought the price right in line with my budget. The only problem left was to convince my Hot Topic, black, Dr. Marten's, punk loving daughter to ditch the darkness and find her inner Disney princess for a night. I let her try out all of the black dresses she wanted and then she tried on the white dress I first spotted weeks ago. It was so beautiful and perfect on her. It is unlike anything she would have picked out and she looks like a princess in it. It even went perfectly with the shoes I found at Payless the other day. She fell in love with it despite her inclination not to, score one for mom.
Best of all I opened a Macy's charge account when checking out and go another 20% off resulting in a $65 total savings on the dress making the perfect dress that much more perfect. I asked about the return policy when checking out in case we found something else in the mall and the sales person told me it was a very generous full year as long as the tags were still attached. I didn't even need the paper receipt, they could just scan he tags for the return.
The Boca Mall is very upscale and this store reflects that. Even though they charge the same price as other Macy's this store just seems more high end like the mall it is in. I also appreciate that unlike some stores Macy's just let's you try on as much as you want with out being limited to how much you can take in a dressing room at a time. Being told I can only take in so many items at a time is a real turn off for me. If I needed a special event dress in the future this would be the first store I...
Read moreToday I had a very unpleasant experience at Macy’s in Boca Raton. Earlier this week I had left some items at Customer Service to be picked up today, and since there was a 25% discount starting on all products, I decided to take my time looking around the store. I was not in a rush, as I am currently not working and had the day off, so I wanted to carefully shop for clothes not only for myself, but also for my husband and my two teenage daughters. Macy’s is a very large store, with many departments, and I like to go through several times to make sure I don’t miss anything, especially when there are good discounts.
As I browsed and tried on some clothes, I carried with me the items I had already selected. However, the sales associates repeatedly approached me, constantly offering help even after I politely said, “Thank you, I’m just looking.” Their insistence became overwhelming, and finally, one associate named Teresa actually came up to me and took the clothes from my hands, forcing me to leave them on hold in an area of the store that was far from Customer Service and unfamiliar to me. This made me feel harassed and disrespected, as if I were being treated like a shoplifter instead of a loyal customer.
When I went to Customer Service to pick up my previous purchase, a manager was called over for no clear reason. While I was waiting, I took one of the small water bottles that were clearly placed for customers and drank it. The manager then made a comment to me, saying, “You’re stealing my water.” I found this completely inappropriate and deeply offensive. It was not a joke—it was in very poor taste. I left the store in tears after receiving such treatment, feeling humiliated and devalued.
I have been a Macy’s customer for a long time and visit this location frequently since it is close to my home in Deerfield. I have always liked Macy’s for its variety and organization, and it has been my favorite store. However, today I felt insulted, mistreated, and judged unfairly. I understand that employees may be cautious when customers spend a long time in the store, but I was simply shopping, taking my time, and trying to take advantage of the sale for my family.
No customer deserves to be made to feel like a criminal while shopping, especially when we are paying the same money as everyone else. This experience left me extremely disappointed and hurt, and I sincerely hope Macy’s management takes this...
Read moreExtremely distasteful event dealing with LANA in the Jewelry department... I returned a Christmas gift with her on a Friday night, and couldn't find anything I would like to exchange it for... so we settled on putting the funds on a gift card, while I go and get the debit card that the purchase was made on so a direct refund could be processed (as advised).. Upon listening to LANA's advice, I returned the following day with the debit card that the purchase was made on, and the gift card where the funds were now stored (and every receipt). To my surprise, LANA was there again and began to "help" me. After a 30 second dialogue, she went and asked a colleague, who then told her that due to the funds now being on a gift card, they cannot be refunded.. LANA tells me this, and I respond by telling her I went out of my way and followed her exact directions, and now I am left high and dry.. She tells me that she will sell me something ,but that is the only thing she was willing to do with me and proceeds to turn her back to me and attend to another customer. She literally ignored me, after I was being so kind with her regardless of her obvious mistaken advice.. She had a complete lack of accountability, and treated me like I was a piece of garbage serving no purpose other than to provide her a commission( not sure if they even make that)... After waiting about an hour to talk to a manager that never came, I explained the situation to a couple other very pleasant and kind employees who wanted me to go to HR... But I was so insulted and frankly disgusted in the complete lack in human decency by Lana that I left the store, and gave the gift card to a sibling... A terrible experience from beginning to end.. I now gave away my Christmas gift, wasted plenty of gas going back and forth from the mall, wasted about 3 hours, and got treated like a piece of trash by LANA... I can confidently say that I will never be willing to return to a store that harbors such a gross employee.. So to LANA, I wish you nothing but the best in life... but please, learn to take some accountability for your actions and treat other humans with at LEAST some sort of human decency, because my experience with you was truly...
