As a former employee, I have many fond memories of working here during college. The owners were incredibly accommodating with my schedule, and I always looked forward to coming in—not just to work, but to be part of a positive environment. I still associate this place with wonderful moments and have always supported it as a local business I care about.
I recently visited on July 10, 2025, around 4:30 PM, and while the custard was okay—not the best I’ve had, but still enjoyable—the strawberries were completely frozen, which took away from the overall experience. There were two staff members present: one was kind and helpful, immediately resolving an error with my order—it was mistakenly given as scoops of vanilla ice cream rather than the concrete I had requested. She kindly remade it without hesitation, and I appreciated her professionalism.
However, the second staff member was unnecessarily rude. After the correction was made, she came to the window and slammed it shut, visibly frustrated. It was jarring and disappointing, especially given my past experience working there, where respectful and empathetic service was a priority.
As someone who knows how challenging customer service can be, I understand off days happen. Still, it was disheartening enough to make me reconsider returning—not because of the product, but because I’m concerned about being treated poorly again or being perceived as a difficult customer, which I certainly am not. I simply asked for what I ordered and had paid for.
Though I always tip, I hesitated this time—not wanting to inadvertently reward the disrespectful behavior. I truly hope the business continues to focus on empathetic, solution-focused customer service, as it once did under Lance’s ownership and before that, the couple I had the pleasure of...
Read moreWe stopped here for the first time Thursday. The employee was nice and she seemed to have a personality which is rare these days. We ordered a pineapple shake and a banana split. We live 15 minutes from Bolivar so we went through the drive through to get treats to go. The banana split was huge and it came in the most shallow container I had ever seen. Although we ordered to go, it came WITHOUT a lid, or in a to go container. I immediately asked for a lid and the girl said they didn't have lids🤷‍♀️. By the time we got home the banana split had melted all over me, my clothes and my car. The custard itself had an off taste that I can't pinpoint. The pineapple also tasted off. It wasn't bad but it didn't taste like any custard we had ever had. You should invest in lids and containers that can travel. Picture is about 3 minutes before it spilled...
Read moreI should give this place 0 stars. Went there today, Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 11:27 a.m. The sign in the drive thru window said “Closed. Open at 11 a.m.” I also looked at their hours on the menu board. I knocked on their window. I asked if they were open. She said “No”. I told her that the sign says you guys open at 11. She said “I know. But today we’re closed. It’s on Facebook”. I said ok.
She was very rude and had a hateful/annoying look on her face. Not everyone has FB. They should put a sign up that says “Closed Today”. The lady didn’t have to be hateful and rude. We used to support this business. However, after today’s experience and with the inconsistencies of their hours of operation, we will no longer...
