They're claiming another gym sold them my contract when that other gym shut down. Fine. But I never authorized Smash Fitness to charge any of my accounts. They're refusing to remedy this issue, even after confronted. ADDITION I had no idea the membership was even transferred until I was looking at bank statements. Not sure why I'm angry? You are illegally charging me.... and I'm sure hundreds more. There is NO verbiage about payment authorization being transferable. Call me. I've called your staff multiple times. Apparently the owner doesn't take phone calls. Wonder why........ PART 2 According to the two people I spoke to today, both said they were just the front desk guys. No one said they were the owner, let alone introduced themselves as the owner. Not to mention, one of the guys said the owner wasn't even there and he doesn't take calls. So something isn't adding up. As per the contract -- this is the verbiage you're referring to? "The member may cancel the contract if CRUNCH goes out of business, or moves its facilities more than 5 driving miles from the business location designated in contract and fails to provide, within 30 days, a facility of equal quality located within 5 driving miles of the business location designated in the contract at no additional cost to the buyer. Any refund due to the member of funds paid or accepted in payment of the contract shall be computed by dividing the contract price by the number of weeks in the contract term and multiplying the result by the number of weeks remaining in the contract term and shall be refunded within 30 days of notice of cancellation." Where exactly in there does it state the contract is assignable? There’s no wording saying the membership automatically transfers or that you must accept the new location. Where in there does it state you have authorization to charge me without my consent? Why am I mad? Because you are fraudulently charging me for something I never signed up. Post it here for everyone........ what verbiage in a contract that I have signed does it state you...
Read moreFinished my first day of training at Smash Fitness, and I'm feeling positive! I am 53, and while I don't consider myself too overweight, 5'5", 140 lbs., I do feel through time, most of my muscle mass has turned to into flab. I joined a gym but did not have the knowledge to achieve what it was I was looking to achieve, therefore not much success. I'd use the treadmill, and tryout the aerobic class (which I never completed an entire class), and I would putz around with other equipment. I would stay by the door in the aerobics class because it was easier to escape. With Tanya as my trainer at SF, she pushed me to do what I would "never" do on my own. I left with my body feeling a bit like jello, but extremely happy, knowing this is going to work for me! The best part, when I went home, my husband said, "I'm glad you're doing something good for yourself!" In reality, I think he is going to be just as pleased, if not more, than I will be with the results....
Read moreAffordable local gym with relatively new equipment. Staff is very friendly and never had an issue.
The WiFi is abysmal and almost never works properly and has been bad since I started coming here in 3 years ago. It seems to be an issue when there is a lot of people in the gym so maybe the router isn’t built to handle it. Not the end of the world, but streaming music and or using workout apps that use the internet struggle to work properly at times since I have no cell service inside the building.
Edit: I spoke with management and it sounds like the internet issue is really out of their hands based on the building and current infrastructure with respect to their internet speed. They’re waiting on fiber to solve the issue with connectivity in the building. I can’t fault them too badly for this and upped my rating as a result. That being said, it’s still an inconvenience that might impact your...
