I had a very inconvenient experience here, but in the end the product turned out nice so I am giving the store a 3. I placed a large order online for tote bags for a charity event on July 1 and received an automated confirmation email right away.
After not receiving any updates via email about the status of my order, I called the store two weeks later and found that there were some server issues when I placed the order so it was not in process. I understand those types of things happen so no big deal (they did have my order details in their system so I’m not sure what happened exactly). The order goes through and I’m told I will receive a call back the next day but never did. I call the following week and there is still some back and forth, so I didn’t end up seeing a proof until late July, though I had no changes to the design (2 weeks after my order was “officially confirmed” after the server issues).
I needed these bags for a mid-August event so am now worrying they may not be ready in time. The store confirms this and suggests a different type of bag than I wanted to speed up the process. Inconvenient, but fine. To cut down on shipping time and cost, I had someone pick up the order from the store and requested that the shipping fee (from where they’re made to the store) be waived for my inconvenience. The store owner agreed (she was nice throughout the process but never apologetic in the slightest). She took my payment over the phone and let me know I’d receive a paid invoice for the reduced price, which I did. However when I checked my credit card statement, I see that the full amount has been charged. At this point I was pretty irritated so decided not to call the store again and request a refund for the shipping.
Overall it was a very inconvenient experience. I was trying to go with a local company but this was a headache. The store owner was nice and the bags turned out well, but I felt that they should’ve been more apologetic, and placing the order mid-July (after their server issues) should’ve been plenty of time for delivery for a mid-August event. Read moreI recently contacted this business because I was needing some memorial shirts due to my son's passing. The first person I spoke to acted like it was her first day and couldn't answer any of my questions and said she would have her boss call me when she got to the office. About 45 minutes later, I received a call back and she asked what I was needing. I told her I would need possibly 50 shirts and she said she knew she didn't have that many, but that she had a meeting and would call me back as soon as it was over with how many she actually had on hand. I waited the rest of the day and never got a call back from her. I always try to shop local and help small businesses and for this reason, even with Caliente Designs' 3.8 rating, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried to give them my business. But, due to the circumstances, the next morning I started looking for someone else locally who could help us with what we needed. Luckily I came across a very nice lady at Next Chapter Designs by Dee. I told her what we needed and before I could tell her what we needed she offered her condolences and said she would do whatever she could to help us. This alone made us feel that she cared and knew she was the best choice. Dee went above and beyond not only in designing the shirts with a beautiful, custom design, but she went the extra mile to create some in a different color for some family members who requested it. Next Chapter Designs by Dee will now be our go to business, not only for t-shirts, but she also makes custom tumblers, banners, bags, etc. You name it, she'll create it and for less than Caliente Designs. Read moreWent to get my design for my wife and she told me she would get my stuff done on may 3rd and she didnt work on it till the day of and was told she would send pics to make sure things were right. My design was not what I wanted and she got my wife's name wrong and she did re do them but again, got the design wrong and said it wouldn't be done till Monday or Tuesday. Didnt get it till Wednesday and the design was still wrong. This is for my wife's business and we will not return at all. Wouldn't recommend anyone to go here cause she is rude no customer service or apologies. When my wife got them she handed them with attitude and said it would take more time to get them done if we wanted the design the way we wanted them.
