Target — Local services in Boston

Feb2023: 5⭐: I would recommend this small store location. This location appears to be a small satellite type location that is situated in the middle of a bustling small store business area. There is parking adjacent to the business that is specifically for Target and Dunkin Donut customers. There is handicap parking in front of the doors and plenty of general parking spaces as well. The parking lot appears to be very busy and one would have to use caution moving into and out of the lot. This lot doesn't appear to be suitable for large vehicles. I watched one individual truck pull in and clog up the entire entry exit area for other vehicles trying to turn around looking for parking. The store front had an automatic door that opened when I approached and was functional. This store appears to be equipped with a small variety of everything a major store would have in stock. I would not expect this store to have everything a full store would have, but I would expect this store to have the basic necessities for residents in the surrounding area. You can see as I walk through the store snapping pictures that this store was consistently being replenished with the amount of products that were being put on shelves even as customers were in there trying to shop. This type of activity might irritate customers or shoppers, but it's this type of activity that keeps the shelves full and the store functional has a small mini-mart that should be functional and stocked. I did not witness any fighting or negative activity from the store associates when I observed the interaction between the work group. There were store associates stock in the shelves as well as those moving products from the back to the front. This operation when I visit it appears to be functional, well supervised and well managed. I did not take note of the small things that may or may not be on the shelves, what I did take note of is that compared to area food markets and many markets. This location will definitely be competitive with those types of shops for customers. I did like the fact that when I went to check the lettuce area that I found that all of it was not brown. This was mine and my fiancé's first time at the Roslindale Target and figured we’d look around to see what the store had to offer. From the moment we entered the store up until we walked out the door we were followed by three different Target team members: one young Caucasian woman, one young African American man, and a young Hispanic man. We noticed right away that the young Caucasian woman was following close behind us down every aisle we went in to. She then asked the young African American male to follow closely behind us once we reached electronic and toys. They must have alerted AP that we looked suspicious because we noticed a young Hispanic male do a couple of laps near the aisles we were in. We were just looking to grab some dinner and even picked up some underwear at 8:26pm on a Friday night. We’re both African American from this neighborhood and found it uncomfortable to be followed around like criminals when other customer (a couple of Caucasian women and a young Hispanic couple) were not treated the same as us. This isn’t the first Target we’ve been in where we were racially profiled but it seems that somewhere in the organization racism is tolerated. Prices are wrong when you go to the register & then you have to wait or dispute. This happens many times & visits in a row. Recurring problem. Found outdated dairy products & other items multiple times. Many food items packaging is damaged on racks. Prices are much higher than other targets though they have gotten somewhat better. Carts are always dirty. They do have cart wipes though fact is no effort is put to cleaning the carts by staff or their instructors- accumulated dirt for weeks on end. Still worth going to this target. Most local businesses in the direct area when it comes to food & practical items are not worth supporting. Better off at target just need some practice at this one or it will take long because of itwm problems. I'd go in their more but they are still lacking in ways that are easily controllable which affects my time & shopping experence which I would perfer to consist of being in & out & not have to look over everything so much. Target app is not good to use in general but especially there. They will help you use it though. Bags always break.
