Bay State Model Railroad Museum — Attraction in Boston

We went to the annual open house. The wait was very long (~1hr:20min) but it went by fast, especially if you are there with somebody else and take turns at holding your spot in line and exploring the area. Once inside the models were very impressive, near seen anything like it. They have sets of three different scales and the details were impeccable. A lot of local references as well. My two year old really enjoyed it...

If you love trains you've gotta go visit this place. They have a room full of model trains with all the landscaping, buildings, people, cars etc. Meticulous details. They are open two weekends a year or by reservation on Wednesday evenings. Perfect place to bring a child or to bring out your inner child. The members of the club have done a wonderful job creating this model train display....

Amazing visit to the Model Railroad Museum! Definitely a must see when it is open.

You can make a reservation to visit on some Wednesday nights 7-9pm. You should make a reservation. But, they open on weekends a couple times a year for an open house!
