This is a very unique place. I had a hard time rating this place. Let's start with the place itself. The walls are covered with writing. Some were funny, some not. The tables are covered with paper for easy cleanup. The staff seemed all about business. They were efficient and attentive, but not very friendly. They have strong again accents, so we had a hard time understanding exactly how ordering worked. You need to order in 1lb increments. The food you order will come in a bag, and you get a bucket to throw the waist in. You get a bib and gloves. Here are a couple of bad things. You only get plastic forks and a shell cracker for crab legs. This makes it very hard to get the meat out. Shrimp is not pealed. Gloves rip easily. Comes here prepared to get messy. We got the mixed sauce. The flavor was great. Medium heat was good. It is spicey, but not too hot, right on the edge. The shrimp and crab was over cooked. The shrimp was a little tough. The crab just broke apart when touched. That made it very hard to get the meat out. The scallops were just right. Overall, I liked it. The over cooking was not horrible on shrimp, but I don't recommend the crab. Maybe bring some metal utensils if you want crab. Considering there is no real dishes for them to clean and no display prep, it is a little pricey. At least everything was a good size. You don't get tiny shrimp...
Read moreI recently dined at this restaurant, and unfortunately, it was a complete letdown. From start to finish, the service was appalling and left a sour taste in my mouth.
Upon entering, there was no warm welcome or acknowledgment from the staff. We had to wait for what felt like an eternity before anyone bothered to seat us, despite the restaurant being nearly empty.
Once seated, the wait for our orders was excruciatingly long. It took ages for a server to even come to our table to take our drink orders, and when they finally did, they seemed disinterested and unfriendly.
When the food finally arrived, it was subpar at best. The dishes were lukewarm, indicating they had been sitting out for some time before being served. Not to mention, the presentation was sloppy, and it was evident that little care went into preparing our meals.
To make matters worse, when we tried to address our concerns with the manager, they were dismissive and unapologetic. Instead of acknowledging our dissatisfaction, they brushed us off and seemed uninterested in resolving the issues.
Overall, my experience at Shaking Seafood Restaurant was incredibly disappointing. The lackluster service, mediocre food quality, and indifferent management left me feeling frustrated and unlikely to return. Save yourself the hassle and choose a different...
Read moreI joined my dinner group of 9 New Year’s Day at 7pm, our server checked in with us about 15 mins later since 8 were seated and we were waiting for a few more folks. She took our drink orders and we sat and waited. The restaurant only had one other large party directly behind us and few others sprinkled through out. We finally got our orders in by 8:45!!! It was the longest wait I have ever experienced in a really long time. I had to wave down our server like flagging an airplane down a runway🤣. We also had to constantly remind her for requests. By the time the food came it was worth the wait. But good grief it was long! I could have caught the lobster myself and returned to the restaurant, joking.
Otherwise the whole lobster 🦞 bag I order with shaking sauce came with one order of half a corn cob and I ordered sweet potato fries on the side which was really good. Bill was hefty but was worth for the flavors were amazing. There no complaints at the table about the food. Felt bad for the folks who order the catfish, it was kiddie sized in my opinion. The food was good so I’ll be back to see if it was due to our party size for such a delay or they were giving us side eye for a few folks coming to...
