Fjällräven Boulder — Local services in Boulder

This is a long review, but worth it. Service: I used to shop with my high-fashion Aunt in NYC where she hired shoppers (different income bracket than myself) and found exactly the right thing for her needs at the time; then they'd alter the pants/shirts/skirts/jackets to accommodate her frame perfectly. Not since she and I used to visit every floor in Macy's Herald Square, back in the days when high quality items were all they carried, have I had service as excellent, thorough, and personal as that. Didn't even know it existed. Danielle and Rianna at the Boulder Fjallraven store were exquisite. Professional, thorough, and incredibly knowledgeable, they both (on two different days) answered all my tedious questions to help me sort exactly what I wanted. They invited me to look at all variety of items that may help, but absolutely did not overwhelm. They were able to pinpoint details of the garments that benefited my purpose, or show me why one product might work better than another I had my eye on. They informed me of the in-house alterations available, so I can get a near custom fit from what I purchased. I thought I understood what Fjallraven had to offer, but Danielle and Rianna, by going over the various products I was interested in, showed me the great depth to this company, it's products, and values that I will be going to Fjallraven first from now on, when I need something new. Products: The first time a few years ago, when I walked into the Boulder Fjallraven store, I did not expect to walk out with anything, due to the relatively high cost of their products. Then I saw the incredible quality of the products, all the details down to threads, seam lines, fit, durability, pocket placement on pants and jackets, and more. I have made a great investment in some of their apparel over the past 4 years, things I REALLY use and abuse. Now, three pair of pants, an anorak and a couple jackets/coats/gloves later, I have NO regrets. Used to be I'd go out of my way to pay for expensive North Face or other "outdoor" gear, and times have changed. That gear is not the same as it once was, yet it's more expensive than ever. Still has it's place, but for down-to-earth go out and get-it or get-it-done in the rain, sleet, snow, ...getting untangled from damaged, blowing barbed-wire fencing, crawling along the subfloor to clean up and finish caulking, ...to horseback riding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing.... these products are by far the best. Pockets in the right places, gussetted crotch for squatting or climbing, and general durability. So far so good. One exception the company needs to pay better attention to is this: proportions for some of Fjallraven's Women's tops needs to be reassessed. Ladies breasts may not be the same size as the rest of their torso, and ladies with larger boobs, or a larger belly, are just as active as the slimline versions of our younger selves. Pay better attention to the real chest size of a woman; and add waist (below ribs) drawstrings to your jackets so the large breasts don't "tent" the lower part of the jacket, this will give a way to prevent updraft on a cold day. There were just a few items that needed better attention to this. The good news is that Fjallraven WILL MAKE ADJUSTMENTS to whatever the customer needs, and that is awesome! Thank you to Danielle and Rianna for really giving me a great shopping experience; one where I didn't have to explain what I needed a thousand times, or feel defensive because I wasn't being heard. They were perfect...

How often does one find themselves writing about a retail location of an international clothing store? Today, I find myself in such position because of the extraordinary customer service that my wife and I received. Our shopping excursions to Fjällräven became an unexpected highlight of many during our stay in the beautiful city of Boulder.

I, along with my wife, visited the Fjällräven Boulder location 3 times over the course of 5 days. The first time was out of sheer curiosity. My wife was in need of a warm base layer since the weather had become a bit cooler than expected. Both Aron and Danielle assisted my wife and I to find just a few things. Our first visit, however, was mostly spent being assisted by Aron. They both assisted us with sizes, colors, and more importantly, information about each product would perform in certain environments and climates. This information included the type of fabric and material used for pieces of clothing we had questions about as well. We were thoroughly impressed by their breadth of knowledge of their product. At the time of purchase, we enjoyed a 15% discount for military(Army veteran, 10 years). Please consult the store directly for verification as policies are always subject to change.

Three days later, my wife and I had time to kill so we walked the Pearl Street Mall again. The Fjällräven Boulder store was very close to our hotel so we decided to go there first. There was something gnawing at me that I couldn't get over; My wife needed a lightweight jacket. As we walked in, Danielle greeted us, asked how she could help and informed us of the Memorial Day sale. So now we're primed to grab a few more things. Once again, Danielle and Aron stepped up big time. The missus settled on the vaunted Raven Jacket W, which happens to be the most versatile jacket I've ever owned. Danielle really took her time to explain the many finer points of the G-1000 jacket and its uses. At checkout, Aron gave us a MasterClass in the use and care of this jacket to include multiple techniques on the application of wax in the coming years. We bid them farewell again, thinking we were done shopping with Fjällräven. We couldn't have been more wrong. Throughout the afternoon and evening, my wife kept singing the praise of her Raven Jacket W, amongst the other items she was wearing to stay warm. The next day we returned, for the third time. I had to purchase a Raven jacket of my own. By this time, we were greeted like old friends. Danielle and Aron both took time to educate us on the finer points of the Fjällräven lifetime warranty, which I highly recommend you, gentle reader, take the time to research yourself. You will be hard pressed to find a retailer that stands behind their products the way that Fjällräven does.

Before I forget: Fjällräven Boulder has a tailor on sight that can perform alterations on products you just purchased! Holy smokes! (If I remember correctly, this is a free service!)

Updated 6/26 Fjallraven is sending me a 2nd pack due to UPS losing the first. Thank you. I did deduct one star from my review as contacting customer service there is no available phone number or voicemail, only email and that took number of days to get a response.

6/24 Fjallraven responded after 3 days after multiple emails and phone calls. Basically told me they'd look into it. No action or response from them for 3 days. I've asked for a new item to be sent and they haven't done that. They provide no means to talk to a live person, all calls get picked up by voicemail telling you to email them, emailing them tells you to call and to not open more than one email case. So far, terrible service. Anyone from Fjallraven reading these???

6/20 Ordered a pack from Fjallraven and it's not been delivered in 2 weeks. I reached out to Fjallraven 3 times via phone, email, and social media to have them track the package or send me a replacement. but not a single response and it's been 2 business days. Would not recommend this company, and have had a terrible customer...
