We got harassed by the door guy last night. My poor friend was incredibly sad and asked the guy to put his prejudice aside. We were talked down to in such a condescending manner for no reason other than “ you interrupted me” . Firstly my physical ID got checked and I was let in. Then my friend pulls out the My Colorado app and the door guy immediately berates her for it and gets aggressive immediately. I call him out for the manner in which he’s treating 2 sober patrons and he proceeds to say it’s because we interrupted him. I’m not a child. I cannot for the life of me understand why he escalated so quickly but I know he knew he was in the wrong and just power tripping because as soon as I pulled out the camera to record the uncalled for situation he settled down a tad and let us in. Once we were in I had such a bad taste in my mouth from the situation we left. There was no need for that kind of treatment toward us or anyone. I’m almost inclined to say this was racially motivated because my poor friend stood there pleading with him to calm down and put his prejudices aside and to treat us better. And not once did he say it wasn’t about that. All in all treat people with respect and...

Best Old Fashioneds in town!

You may think a college bar staffed by "bartenders" who only know how to pour beers and shots who have learned to despise their college clientele over the years, and who's owner has made his money a hundred times over wouldn't bother to keep a single bottle of Angostura bitters stocked behind the bar, but you would be totally wrong!

They definitely have bitters and definitely know how to make the simplest, most well known cocktail for guests.

They understand that it would be ridiculous to have all that whiskey and scotch on the wall and not know what to do with it besides pour shots and add soda or cola. Duh! Give them more credit than that.

So please give their old fashioned a try! They definitely have that one very common inexpensive ingredient called Angostura Bitters behind the bar to make one and they definitely know that it is just 2oz of whiskey, 1/2oz of simple syrup, and a couple dashes of bitters.

Oh, and please try their Manhattan or Rob Roy as well! What useless excuse for a "bar" would bother to carry scotch and whiskey and not keep a single bottle of $13 vermouth handy? That would be pathetic! And this bar definitely...

I went with a couple of friends to the Pearl Street Pub and Cellar tonight to have a couple drinks and play some darts, and ended up leaving after Rico, one of the bouncers, accused me of doing coke in the bathroom. Not sure if its because I wear all black or the fact I like a little privacy when I use the restroom, but I came out of the stall in the bathroom and Rico was standing there, hounding me as I washed my hands, and then told me to get out after I had left the restroom. He had been joking with me and my friends a few minutes earlier when we were playing darts, so I wasn't sure if he was just giving me a hard time or not, but it became evident that he wanted me out of there. A minute or two after I had left my friends came out and one of them said that he was told by Rico that I was kicked out for doing coke in the bathroom. I thought that the Pearl Street Pub and Cellar was a nice, relaxed place when I went there with my friend back in September, but after tonight I can confidently say that I don't ever plan to step foot back in that place. There are plenty of other places to go and have a drink without risking being labeled...

Reopened earlier this week with lots of improvements. Even the Buffalo has seen a vacuum and spruce up. Food menu has been revamped and is very clear to read and interpret. Great deals on food during the work week. Some of the options are $8 burger with fries (vegetarian option too), $8 pulled pork, slaw and fries & $8 steak sub w/fries). Definitely drop in for a brew, a bite, pool, and/or some darts!

A true local vibe in a town that's always changing this is "Cheers" Boulder style...🐃🐂kiss the Buffalo and be admired by all the college kids and then mm I've to a great sidewalk table outside for beautiful people watching and to check out the finest in Haute Outdoor Ciuture. Once had a beer with Michelle Kwan here. ⛸❄️🥃🏔
