MSU Bookstore, Inc. — Local services in Bozeman

Most of the employees are knowledgeable and friendly making shopping for textbooks easy. However, the bookstore lacks cellular service since it is underground in the back but there is no WiFi either. It makes price comparison hard, I understand that they need to pay their employees but sometimes their prices are significantly higher than other sellers.

Short rant: When I purchased books this fall I had a rude cashier. She seemed peeved that I walked up to her register without being called, despite her texting on her phone. She then proceeded to shove my textbooks into a dinky plastic bag rather than one of the nice yellow plastic ones. The most annoying part was that the bag was so thin that it ended up breaking from the weight. This is my second go-round at MSU. I left in 1992. I am finishing online in another field. Not a lot has changed with the pricing in that sometimes, it's reasonable and sometimes, it's really high. The long lines haven't changed. Not all required books are available here. But, what I really appreciate is the website. It will send you somewhere else if there is a better deal elsewhere. They really saved me this semester. I live 80 miles from Bozeman and had one book I needed to get during a blizzard. So, I ordered it. It was too late in the day for them to ship it that day. They shipped it the next day, which was Friday. UPS delivered it to my door on Monday, despite it being a holiday. And, the shipping was less than it would've cost me to drive to Bozeman and back plus pay to...

Great place to buy pencils, they also have some great snacks and a better deal on engineering paper than Amazon. Staff are very nice.

DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOKS HERE. There is probably a PDF of your textbook online for free, or you can get an international edition of the textbook for 25% of the cost. In my time as an electrical engineering student I have only bought 2 textbooks and 3 lab manuals here. These were all custom books printed by MSU, so they were pretty cheap.
