We were entering Yellowstone National Park the next day and weren’t sure what food options or wait times to expect, especially during the busy summer season. So we decided to pack some lunch from Pickle Barrel—and it turned out to be a fantastic choice! The sandwiches are huge, easily enough to feed two people, and packed with fresh ingredients and flavor. We ordered a few different kinds, and each one was delicious and satisfying. What truly made the experience special was the team of school kids running the place. They were incredibly polite, efficient, and enthusiastic. It’s inspiring to see young people managing a busy local favorite with such professionalism and energy. They handled the rush with ease, kept the space clean, and made great recommendations with genuine smiles. The vibe of Pickle Barrel is fun and laid-back, with a local charm that makes you feel right at home. The service was quick, and everything was neatly packed for our road trip. It’s clear that this place is a Bozeman staple, and the young staff are doing an amazing job keeping the tradition alive. Highly recommend stopping by if you're passing through or prepping for a day in Yellowstone. Great food, great people, and a great example of community spirit!

This place was one of the best shops that I have ever been to!! It all started when we were at the MOR Museum, and, after a couple hours we were really hungry. We asked other people at the Museum where they would reccomend to eat. The first thing that came up was the Pickel Barrel. It looked convincing so we went to it. I can't think of a single thing to complain about. The people at the counter were very nice, and it made the whole experience a lot more fun. Another thing that I loved was the pricing. It was reasonable, and less than the other restaraunts around. The time that was spent to make the food was 10 minutes max. I started to have doubts that the food would be any good, because from my experience when food takes that little time, it usually is low quality. It was actually decent, and HUGE trust me, you should just get the half size, your going to be full fast!

Great little shop with large Delicious sandwiches. The team was very helpful and you don't need a mask to order. You pick up your food at the window on the left side of the building in the summer. You can get thier menu online or in a board out front. But our AdventureKrewe pro tip: is to order the cheese steak or the blue streak. Both were great and one 18" sandwich will feed two of you for lunch. You might 1 for dinner after a hard day at work. Also tip the folks that are working well. They were short staffed so let's get back to work America nobody is going to take of you if you can't help yourself.

I have been a hard core fan for 20+ years, of the subs and the ice cream shop in bozeman, and still frequented the one in billings when I lived there. I have moved out of state but am back in bozeman visiting family and went in with my mom for lunch. I was very put off by the treatment of a special needs woman who was in line in front of us. While we were looking over the menu, there was some misunderstanding over a “free sub” punch card that she had brought in last time but not used. The employee helping her was practically yelling (not to be mean I’m sure, just frustrated) at her instead of staying calm and keeping a conversation with the sweet woman. The employee then got what seemed to be the manager involved and the same back and forth went on about weather or not the punch card had been used or not. The woman stated that she had left it with them the last time she was in but had not received her free sandwich at that time. The manager then basically just kind of pushed her sandwich towards her and said something along the lines of “fine...just go” and as the woman walked out the manager turned back to her previous task and said under breath “who knows what that was all about” and was obviously annoyed. So I decided right then and there that I didn’t want to eat there any more either. If they had handled the situation a little differently, with a little more kindness I might have paid the difference for the women’s sandwich. yelling at her like she is deaf, just because she is special needs is uncalled for. But to talk down on her after she leaves is truly unprofessional and to do it in front of other customers is just AWFUL customer service! Instead of loosing out on the cost on one sandwich you lost out on three because clearly none of your staff knew how to handle the situation. Or...

Pickle Barrel is without a doubt a Bozeman community treasure! They offer so many great sandwiches (both hot and cold), and the size of their sandwiches are amazing and will let you have a ton of leftovers as treat for the next day 👍🏻! The staff have always been super nice to me and some of them even remember my name and order (the kind of thing you don't see to often anymore in today's day and age)! Pickle Barrel has always been super quick with making my order , I don't think I've ever waited more than 10 minutes for my sandwich, which is a great thing if you've got a busy schedule and are pressed for time! I usually will phone in my order and my sandwhich is always there by the time I've driven down to the shop! Pickle Barrel offers customers the option to phone in their order for pickup as well as being able to bring your sandwich straight to your door (and did I mention that the delivery is free 😉)!! I've never had my deliveries take that long at all 👍🏻! My family and I have been eating Pickle Barrel for the last 20 years or so and I've still never gotten bored or sick of it! Pickle Barrel's been one of the best local sandwich shops in town, and offers amazing and ginormous sandwiches without breaking the bank! I would strongly recommend that anyone craving a sandwich phone in and give this local shop a try, I promise you won't be disappointed 😁!

My all time favorite sandwich that I must have eaten hundreds of times at this point (which I've never gotten sick of), is their (Cheese Steak) sandwich! If you give that sandwich a try I promise you that it won't disappoint. Pro tip, and some mushrooms, jalapeños and extra cheese 😋👌🏻, you can thank...

Ive been buying sandwiches from this business since 1980. My go to sub was the Cheesesteak and still have one every now and again. My sub allegiance has changed when I attended MSU to the venerable Pepper steak. I love the flavor and even though it is a hot sub, live for them even on the hottest day. Whenever I am in Bozeman the trip is never complete without a stop at The Pickle Barrel. The tang from the green peppers, the creaminess of the melted cheese…. Mmmm, make my mouth water just writing about it. The main reason I’m writing is about the “Pickle” of the Barrel. When I visited the other day and ordered my usual Pepper Steak, I asked for “a ton of pickles” partly because I love pickles but More so, I love the ones you usually have. To me it is like a tart little dessert. . I was however surprised to find out that you have chosen to use some sad little cut in half funky tasting pickle. I plead with you to go back to the other pickles. I will come back, like a moth to the flame, but I will ask what kind of pickle you are including with my purchase. Thank you in advance.

My last visit was 1-20-23. Its taken me a bit of time to edit this but, they are back. The pickles that I knew from my childhood are back. The Sammy was awesome as well but the...
