It's a great park if you can trust your dog of leash. It is one city block with huge trees and water access in the summertime. Pop bags and trashcans are readily available- PLEASE use them. Beware though of the seasons. If it is icy, slushy, soggy(ex-spring melt) in most areas around town, it will be there also. It can be a nice place to meet up with a fellow dog friend, make a new friend, or a place to take your dog if you're in town and need a place for your pup to release some energy for a few. As I sat in the sunshine reading a book for over an hour I watched a man teach a young girl to ride a two wheeler, several family picnics, dogs chasing balls and sticks, a couple of guys playing frisbee and a group of kids having violin lessons that was the highlight of my day. The park it’s self and spacious with benches and picnic tables, large mature trees for shade and a water fountain for dogs. It was free of dog poop, litter and general detritus of human life. The only reason I rated it 4/5 instead of 5/5 stars is because the water hydrant has never worked; not once in the 6 years we have been coming here.
