im sorry. if i could give NO starts i would! My husband had bought my ring through kays in port charlotte 10 years ago and we had no issues with them unti now! i tried to take my ring into the manatee location to have it sized, rhodium dipped, and the prongs tightened. In the beginning, the lady tried to help us, and then the manager decided to let himself into the transaction. He said that because of the flaw, or chip, in my main diamond that they couldnt help us. But then he decided to say that they would send it out but they would have to say the ring was a $0 value and IF SOMETHING WERE TO HAPPEN OR GET LOST IN THE MAIL that we would pretty much be SOL! We couldnt even put insurance on it what so ever. Then proceeded to discourage us by selling it to a pawn shop and trying to sell us a different ring or diamond. we left very much upset. 2 weeks later we went to Jareds. (which by the way is where kays sends ALL OF THEIR JEWLERY TO BE FIXED AND CLEANED.) They told us that kays was completely wrong about everything they said. THEY WERE ABLE TO SIZE MY RING WITH NO ISSUE AND FIX MY PRONGS AND MAKE IT NEW!! Also that they ring was valued at $2500. She also told us we werent the only people that had complained about kays professionalism that day. Im sorry but kays should not be talking to people about repairs or act like they know what they are talking about but just refer their customers to go straight to Jareds. and i recommend everyone to do so. JAREDS CARES ABOUT YOU and the personal attachment and sentimental value of your jewlery and wont just try to shame you and upsell you to another item. DO...
Read moreCame in here today to look for a place holder while my actual ring is getting custom made. When we walked in, a young man greeted us while the other two sales women were just staring. So we slightly looked around as I had a ring in mind. When I showed the picture to the young blonde woman, she was less than enthusiastic and said "that's an online exclusive"...Okay, cool so uh you going to show me anything? She didn't offer, no big deal so I asked her if she had anything similar and rudely said "not in that PRICE RANGE". Price wasn't really a huge deal, again just wanted a place holder. She showed me a few things but everything wasn't exactly my style, when I mentioned this she started getting "huffy" "well rose gold isn't exactly popular anymore". I just felt like the moment we walked into the door (we were in gym clothes) we were automatically look down upon. I asked to see other style of rings as well and again was just so off putting to everything I asked to see. Anyways, went to a different place and found something I liked better. Regardless, these are sales people and the last thing they want to do is sell. Just an all around bad experience that should have been...
Read moreWent in to have 2 diamond rings, 2 diamond necklaces, gold ankle bracelet & 3 wrist bracelets cleaned & diamond jewelry inspected. Bought at Kay Jewelers but a different store. Walked in was ignored at first, then a female asked what I needed. No hello.. nothing. Told her what I was there for, put my jewelry in basically what I would call a ice cube tray & she cleaned my items, inspected & that was it. Terrible job of cleaning my jewelry, diamonds in my rings were still dirty (foggy look) went home & cleaned them myself. We browsed while waiting, their were a couple of items I was interested in (ring & necklace) but after that kind of treatment decided not to buy from them. This is the most unfriendly Kay Jewelers store I’ve ever been to, no greeting upon walking in, no conversation not even a smile, it was like I was bothering her or she didn’t want to be there. Another female employee was there as well, her demeanor was exactly the same. I will not be returning to this location. I’ve spent a lot of money at Kay Jewelers & they should be treating their customers better than this. Will be checking out a different store, hopefully it will be a...
