The owner is very friendly, courteous, and professional. He’s the best package store around. Edit: after reading some of the reviews, I am shocked. Anyone that has actually shopped here knows that the owners post the prices on ALL of their products. This is one of the few liquor stores (or just store in general) that actually takes time to engage and learn about their customers. So if they see that their reserves are running low on something that they have a few customers buy every few days, why is it bad that they take it off the shelf for their regulars? To me, that’s them being good owners. It’s what makes so many people keep coming back because THEY ACTUALLY CARE. It is NOT just about making a quick buck to them. Also, I’ve never seen them price gouge like other commenters have mention. I’ve actually seen them give discounts more often than not. If you look at the issue commenters have said over “Peach Crown”. Think about how you would handle the issue like that and how they all mistakenly claim “price gouging”. Price gouging laws affects essential items like milk and gas. Anyone with a brain can tell you that. So having a few different account claiming the same issue, two accounts with the same last name, the other two with very little activity, with the same story, different retelling of that story, with all screwed information, just seems fabricated to me. If you have been to this store, you know the owners are not malicious. They are humble, honest, and respectful. Don’t believe the negative reviews, go check the store out...
Read moreI stopped going here when I learned they tack on a 3% charge to ANY card transaction just for using a card. When I questioned this, I was told they do so because they are hit with fees from visa/mastercard themselves. I see some stores state "$10 minimum charge when using cards" or the like, as I know as a small business owner myself that transactions above a certain amount feature a far lower % fee and if the business is doing enough business the fee is actually even smaller. But 3% on ALL transactions, regardless of amount, is quite simply robbery. In the end, the fee is a tax write-off for the business, and in order to legally add a service fee in GA, there must be signage indicating a surcharge for using a card is to be included. So not only is this business double-dipping the tax benefit, they are not doing so legally per GA Code §13-1-15 (2015). This business should be ashamed of this unposted practice which is absolutely outside of visa/mastercard business agreements and...
Read moreI have to agree with the posts about price gouging...sorry, but it's true. I went in and they have some less than "rare" stuff behind the glass and want a crazy price. Asked about a Weller 107 and was quoted over 700...that's just ridiculous...even 2nd market isn't near that price. It really is NOT that rare, just maybe rare for this store. Also, was told that was just Christmas pricing and would go down if it didn't sell by January...wonder what it would go down to. Please DO NOT perpetuate these prices!! However, I do NOT agree about the staff in some of the posts, they were actually very nice, and let's face it...it's your store, so your prices...I can't/won't pay those kinds of prices and just won't be...
