Took a load from Maine to this facility. My reefer unit broke down at the security booth where the guard alerted their management and let me in at 5pm. These people had me sit 4 and a half hours before calling my trailer to a door. I was not made priority or rejected at the gate, and they told me that they would most likely take the load over the phone by management on site, since it was well below freezing.
They called me and asked if the reefer started working again after the long wait and I had said no. The person on the other end of the phone line asked what the temp was and I replied, 19 deg box temp and still frozen. It was mid 30s outside temp. The person told me that it was still plenty cold enough. Bring it on up and back it into the door after leaving paperwork in the mailbox.
While in the door they had me unhook and wait 30 mins more. Then at 930pm a different person called to tell me that the load was being rejected by a manager not even on site, but at home. Worst call I’ve seen in 10 years in the industry. I ended up bringing the fully loaded truck all of the way back to Maine and held it overnight- and then returned it to the original shipper the next day. The product was still frozen solid 5 degrees over night upon arrival back to the original shipper- which means that it was totally fine during the time of delivery.
The broker turned on me immediately after the rejection and is refusing to pay fuel/layover, and tried holding me to everything that they could within the rate con over the reefer breakdown with NO spoilage.
After reading the other reviews I am not at all surprised with the star rating that this place has. I’d give them zero stars if it would let me. Wasted my time and money all because the receiver and manager didn’t want to do their job. They didn’t even do an internal reading of the actual product on my trailer. Inexperienced staff to...
Read moreI deliver here a lot and going through the reviews, I'll honestly say more than half are true. Let's break it down: There is NO overnight parking but there's a big staging area you'll probably spend a few hours before you are called to dock. Once unloaded, you Have to exit the facility. It's one way in, one way out. The positive about the staging is that you'll be allowed hours in before your appt time so a reset is probable. You have a high chance of getting unloaded by the second shift if you come a couple of hrs early esp the freezer division. Say you check in 4p for a midnight appt, you'll probably be empty by 9p. It's the night shift that tends to be slow. Likely understaffed. The freezer docks are a nightmare...to close together and very tight manoeuvre-ability. Bring your A game, otherwise you'll hold up everyone trying to dock. Explains why you have to drop trailer. If too hard to dock, call receiving, a yard dog will always help dock the trailer for you. Unloading normally takes 4-5 hrs. Major cause? Skid breakdowns. No lumpers here. Everythings Internal. -HAVE your POs ready! Guard won't let you in without a PO or delivery No. -Delivering Ice cream? You'll be in a door quick-fast. Speaking from experience. Lastly, I'd rather deliver here than their neighbouring Hatfield, MA facility. You'll spend anything between 6hrs and 9hrs before you're done. -Washroom for truckers is available at the staging area. -Lastly, DO NOT MISS YOUR APPOINTMENT. Rescheduling can be a nightmare.
Hope this...
