This Walmart is THE WORST one I've EVER been to. Literally there could be 15 people in line and they only have 1 checkout open. Then, when another checker finally comes they don't even turn on their light to let people know they're open. When we walked in there were a few registers open and exactly ZERO lights were on to indicate they could help anyone. My boyfriend wants to get a bike, and nobody here even knows how to help him. He walked around looking for an associate for 10 minutes. When he found anyone they all pawned him off on someone else until they told him to bring it to the front and they would know what to do... unfortunately they did not know what to do. The guy that finally came, Thomas, was nice enough but not equipped with the knowledge to know what to do. Needless to say my boyfriend did not get a bike today. I have a hip injury and last time I was here all the scooter carts were not charged and not one was even plugged in. I have a knee brace I bought here that isn't what I need but I'm not even going to return it because I never want to come back to this Walmart again! The funny thing is, I haven't even gotten into how they force you to use self checkout by doing these things. For a huge corporation that makes huge amounts of money you'd think they could afford to pay employees and help the population of unemployed people by providing jobs. I guess this is just another sad example of how corporations care more about money than humans, and little about providing actual quality products and services...
UPDATE...2/22/24 So, tonight, after getting off of work, my fiance went to this Walmart to get some Pedialite and cough drops for me. He decided to get himself some beer since he'd just gotten off work. So, generally, from my previous experience, there's never anyone to help, so I avoid this Walmart like the plague. He was buying 3 items. Since he was purchasing alcohol he needed an actual cashier to ring him up. There were 3 people there at the self check out, but none were paying attention. The one male employee was on his personal phone, and the other two females were just standing there and spacing out. He finally was able to get the attention of the person on the phone by approaching him. He asked him to help him out, and the guy told him he could ONLY ring up the alcohol. So the customer literally had 3 items, and the employee wouldn't ring them all up for him. My problem with this place is that nobody wants to do their job. People who don't want to use self check out should not have to, and if an employee has to ring up alcohol why wouldn't they just do the other 2 items and call it a day. It's frustrating when people are resistant to just doing their jobs. We aren't getting paid when we ring things up, but those employees are. I guess it's easy to get a job where all you have to do is space out or look at your phone and turn customers away by insisting on not helping them. The prices keep going up, the workers are getting paid, and apparently now we have to work when we just got off work and need something from the store. So once again, I am just posting this to show that nothing has changed at this store, and nobody who works here wants to help customers so everyone should avoid this store if they can. It's obvious the corporation doesn't care about the customers because if they did the employees wouldn't be so disregarding to the customers that PAY to buy things here, therefore keeping the company open and jobs for the people working there. It makes no sense, and it's sad. If I could put zero stars, I would! The website says literally, "If you prefer checking out with a cashier, we will continue to have that option available for customers who prefer that method." Clearly, that is false advertising. You can't trust anything...
Read moreYesterday my husband and myself went to the Brea store to make a purchase in the Electronics Department. Toby the department manager at the Brea store was so helpful. He indicated that the product we wanted to purchase (Asus 64 GB Tablet 379.00) was out of stock. Toby offered to call another store for us to make it convenient so we wouldn't have to run all over town. The closed store was in Orange and the availability of the sale item showed two left. I know that items like this go quickly so to drive 15 miles one way I though we might have the Orange store hold it for us. Toby called the first time and the front desk at the Orange store put him on hold and then hung up on him. He tried again and in a very pleasant voice said please transfer me to your electronics department. My husband and I waited for over 25 minutes while all the phone did was ring. Toby was embarrassed to have to tell us when we asked what was going on. The department wasn't answering the call. Rather than make him wait any longer on hold for this more than incompetent store in Orange to bother to answer their phone my husband and I decided to leave and just drive over to Orange. We thanked Toby for his time and effort, my husband shook his hand in thanks and we left. On the way out of the Brea store we decided rather than driving over to Orange on hope that there might me a tablet in stock we decided to go to Best Buy instead. I made my purchase and even got a better price than Walmart. I will never go to Walmart again based on the fact that I honestly believe that Toby is the only employee that has any professionalism and common sense. Just because Walmart offers Lower Prices doesn't mean they should combine it with Lower Customer Service. Im hoping that somebody from the Orange Walmart store reads this and advises their people to step up their game. I highly doubt it, but I can hope. I also hope Walmart will view Toby as an exceptional employee, learn from him and employ other...
Read moreI don't really post reviews regardless how inconvenient things go. I was a bit frustrated after visiting this location today. I'll start with something positive. This location is the closest one to home. Clean, not chaotic like other Walmart. Now, I was there to buy a few things for my baby. I asked a staff for nursery water. The lady at the baby section told me if there was any, it would be on top shelf so I walked away. To make sure, I checked my app and it says it was available so I went back to show her. She said no, we dont have it. She asked me to see the register for help. So i pushed my stroller and the rest of our items to the front and asked for help. The lady up at the register checked her little device and said they have 40 in the back and 25 on sales floor. She sent me back. So i went again and saw the same lady but I went to another staff because she and I gave up on each other. This staff, unfortunately, asked the same lady so you can already see how it ended.. I told him what I saw on my app and what I was told and he said they would need to have someone unlock those or something like that. I went back to the register to pay for the rest of my items. The lady at the register who tried to help had nothing left to say. They werent able to help at all. I am now ordering these online for pick up at a different location. It may or may not be the staff's control but Walmart, please fix your app. Don't say it's available for pick up if its LOCKED away and none of your employees...
