Worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. Will never be back. This was for a catering order. I hosted a birthday party at my house last Saturday and spent over $450 on food for the party. The Kahlua Pork and BBQ Beef were so salty they were inedible. It completely ruined the meal. I normally don’t complain but a guest nudged me because it was so bad she said. I didn’t call Sunday because it was my family members actual birthday and we were continuing the celebration so I waited until Monday. The mgr was not there so I left a message. Then tonight ( I left the message last night ) at about 15 minutes until closing I still have not received a call back so I call them. I spoke to the manager Mike and he proceeds to tell me that their marinade is always the same, the proportions always the same, that he’s never had any complaints. I tell him ‘well it was inedible’ and that I still had the food and asked if he would like me to bring it if he didn’t believe me so that he can taste and see for himself how little we ate. Then he’s said no, no, no I believe and then asked me why I didn’t call the night of the party? Can you believe this guy? I said because we ate later, you were already closed and I wasn’t going to interrupt the party ro call the restaurant to complain! Then he continued with the ‘they always use the same marinades, the proportions are always the same….’ essentially calling me a liar, AGAIN! So then he asked me what do I want and I told him I wanted a partial refund. He said no we can’t do that. I said why not? He didn’t have a good answer. Then he asked why I waited until today to call! I told him I didn’t. I called yesterday and you didn’t call me back. I had to call again. I didn’t call you Sunday because it was the actual birthday and we were celebrating so I called the next day. Then he went again with the whole ‘we use the same marinades, the proportions are always the same and we’ve never received any complaints’ line again. He sounded like a robot! So I asked him directly do you think I’m lying?? And he of course says no, no, no. Then he wants to know if I have a receipt and we go through a whole song and dance about the order number and the card used and basically tried to make me feel like we had never placed the order! I was blown away. Finally he tells me he can refund $50. I said that’s it? That’s not even 20%! He didn’t give me a good reason but I didn’t want to argue anymore so I gave in. Read moreThe employees were very nice but it was a complete waste of money buying food from this particular L&L location. We spent $36 on food and probably ate $10 worth because it was that bad. I got the lumpia’s which were the size of mini corn dogs and a they were not crunchy. In their photo located on their store front the lumpia’s look like long taquitos but are actually like an inch and a half in size. Then we ordered spam masubis , the spam was cut extremely thin and one piece of spam was a light grayish color and they put way too much rice. Lastly we got the chicken Katsu and it was more breading than chicken. The meat on the chicken Katsu was so thin and the sauce that comes with it tasted alittle off. We’ve had plenty of L&L Hawaiian BBQ so it’s sad that this particular location was such a disappointment. I wish the food was as great as the staff’s hospitality. The food was yummy. The Katsu chicken and beef bbq was flavorful and delivered presentable. The side macaroni salad was on point. The Spam Musubi was a bit on the burnt side and could have used a bit of improvement.
Yet I was surprised by the poor condition of the dining area. It felt it need a thorough cleaning from the floors to the tables even the walls had damage or "gunk" serious calling to question the quality that is put in make the food. These issues I only noticed once I sat down after I ordered. If sat down prior to ordering I don't think I would have ordered based on what I observed.
