New Korean BBQ AYCE in Brea|356 Korean BBQ Went shopping at Brea Mall this weekend and had some tea from a certain brand! For lunch, we chose this newly opened Korean BBQ buffet nearby! Even though it's a buffet, the meat is ordered and freshly sliced by the chef on the spot, served fresh one portion at a time. From short ribs, beef tongue, and pork jowl to grilled Wagyu sushi, the quality of the meat was amazing! Even the seafood was impressive. This table really had a full-on Omakase feel We ordered: [Short Rib] Oil-marbled and fragrant when grilled to a slight crisp on both sides, juicy and tender in one bite—super satisfying. [Beef Tongue] Thinly sliced and crispy, dipped in their house sauce, it's a must-order for texture lovers! Pork Jowl Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. When grilled to a golden brown, the fat is rendered out perfectly, and it's so delicious with the kimchi [Grilled Mussel] A combination of spicy chili powder and garlic sauce, the aroma is irresistible when grilled to a slight crisp, completely without any fishy taste. Wagyu Sushi The tableside torch-grilling ritual is top-notch, and the Wagyu is incredibly delicious! [Kimchi Stew] The broth is rich and cuts through the richness, making it the perfect ending to the BBQ feast. The decor is different from typical Korean BBQ restaurants. The overall design is minimalist and beautiful, with soft lighting that's perfect for photos! It reminds me of a fancy Korean BBQ place I like back home. The entire meal was a high-end Korean BBQ experience~ great ambiance, a sense of ritual, and delicious meat! Restaurant Name: 356 Korean BBQ Address: 2445 E Imperial...
Read moreDude, I really wanted to like this place but Holy crud this can't be ignored. I've been here a total of 6 times and on the last three I was noticing something strange. I understand that this is a new restaurant in the area and that they're trying to work out the kinks but something was off. I cannot stress enough how much I hate to write this for a newer business in the area. Especially when the food is fantastic
Generally, the demographic of people skews very heavily towards Korean people and that isn't a problem. I'm not korean and neither are the guests I've brought here. In the last 3 times I've come here, I struggled to get the attention of the servers and waitstaff to get fairly basic things. Whereas the people who were clearly Korean were tended to regularly and had their sides replenished without asking. Servers went around to each table refilling sauces and checking up but we noticed they skipped us intentionally. At first I figured I brushed it off as we weren't in their section. But after 2 additional visits, I noticed a consistent pattern of skipping my table along with a general reluctance to want to serve us. We had asked for grill changes and the like only for them to "forget." After 6 total visits, I can no longer suggest this place
I really wanted to make this place my go to, but I cannot in good conscience recommend it, unless you are Korean. 10/10 food though.
Tldr: great food, expect bad service unless...
Read moreSeeing all the 5 stars I came in expecting great if not decent service for a soft opening. They start you off with " high end" meats as they say, then you're free to order anything off the provided menu. Here's the kicker though, there is a 1 hour and 45 minute limit here and we only got our server to come by twice for 2, 2 meat orders. Each person pays 55 each ( 59 after the soft opening promo is over.) There were 5 people by the cashier register, 1 of them being the person that was attending us. Unfortunately, she was too busy taking people down, taking them to their table, and going out to get the ones that were waiting on a table? I say that with doubt because who knows where she actually went and when she did come back she came back alone. For a pretty extensive menu, I at least expected to try a quarter of it, but was stopped " because my time limit was more than up." The worst of it, we weren't even let know she dropped off the check, it was behind me the entire time we were waiting for it, between the seat dividers. Rather spend less, and get more...
