Terrible experience and I will never go back. I first went on the recommendation from a friend to mount Salomon bindings by hand (no jig exists for the binding), so I knew it would be a difficult task.
When I first walked in, I was ignored by the staff who were too busy playing with AirSoft guns to acknowledge me while I stood in the middle of the store with my skis, bindings, and boots in hand. After a couple of minutes, I approached the counter and had to interrupt their bullshit session to get help.
After agreeing to mount the bindings, they "checked the back" and said it would be a while because "that had a lot of work." Since the shop was 2 hours from my house, we arranged a time 1 week later that I would be passing through town and could pick them up again. One week later, I called before dropping in on the shop to confirm they were done, and they hadn't even started. They again blamed their "ton of work" and being short on staff, etc. I reluctantly agreed to return 4 days after my original pickup date, which required a total independent trip to pick them up
When I did finally retrieve my gear, the bindings were not mounted where I had specified on the ski, the tune what not what I had requested, and my DIN number was not set in accordance with the manual.
If you want good customer service and a good final product, do not go here for any...
Read moreI was in need of new ski boots and decided to give this local shop a try. First impression was good in that at a quick glance I saw good deals on skis and bindings. However the boot selection is very limited. They do not carry several major brands and only have one boot alpine boot with a 120 flex or higher. (A few others with backcountry specific features that I specifically do not want) They did not have that boot in my size so I tried on a few others just for giggles. The employee helping me did not seem at all knowledgeable about ski boots and didn't know what modifications the shop could offer other than the obvious heat molding. They took down my info to call me back if/when they got the boot I wanted in stock. A few days later they called telling me they could order the boot but I'd have to pay in advance and pay for shipping. When I called them back they hung up on me. I don't know why I'd buy a boot from a store without being able to try it on? Admittedly I have pretty small feet, but 25.5 is a common enough size that it should be stocked, or at least ordered when needed without the customer having to buy it sight unseen. Seems like an ok shop for basic ski maintenance and good deals on skis, but I would not buy boots here if you need any kind of customization or want to have a decent set of options to...
Read moreThe two stars are for the great music and the friendly staff. However, the service left much to be desired. I was hesitant to return after a previous visit to get new snowboarding boots, during which I received no assistance with boot fitting or advice. Still, I wanted to give a local shop another chance. This time, I brought in my snowboard with a core shot that required a base weld (involving epoxy and P-Tex filling). After checking their services and pricing, I dropped off my board and was quoted four days and $55, as the $35 tune-up was mandatory.
Four days later, just before my Whistler trip, I followed up and was informed they needed more time. Soon after, I got a call that the board was ready—great news, since renting at Whistler wasn't ideal! But when I picked it up, I noticed the hole was filled, though not as expected. A proper base weld involves cutting out the damaged area to create smooth edges before repair, but this step was skipped.
In the end, I was charged for a service that wasn’t properly completed. They simply filled the hole with P-Tex, and the repair didn’t even hold up for an hour on...
