I was extremely disappointed in my shopping experience on December 9, 2023. I had received a 40% off coupon in my app and right away thought to myself that this would be a perfect time to get a large mixer since I have recently been diagnosed with carpel tunnel and arthritis in both hands. I make homemade Christmas cookies every year and usually mix the dough by hand but knew this would be the year to get a large mixer.
I went to the Brentwood California store, grabbed the kitchen aide mixer, and put it in my cart. Now the price was $349.99, and I figured with the coupon it would be $210.00 along with the other purchases I was making. My total bill ended up being $471.72 and this was after I had to put a couple item back since they would not fall under the 40% off coupon.
I asked for a manager to come and help me understand why I wasn’t able to get the 40% and she said it was because they were name brand items. I said it doesn’t say that on the coupon and she pulled up the last page on the app and showed me where it said that.
I think if you are going to lure people into your store with these types of coupons, you should promote it on the front page of the coupon, not that last page and have it where you have to go through different pages to get to it.
I was then told I could use my $10 off coupon and when they scanned it, that didn’t work either. Nor did the $35.00 Kohls cash work, in fact, the checkout lady saw I had $35 in Kohl’s cash and then it disappeared. I’m not sure what kind of scam your company is using but I will make it my goal to inform people that Kohl’s produces coupons that can’t be used and the language if on the very last page of a coupon on the app. Kohl’s has very minimal non name brand items to purchase and by putting these coupons out is just a way to lure you into their stores.
Of note, the clerk who waited on my was very understanding but the manager was very cold mannered.

Read moreHorrible security the man with the long beard keep following me and my mom around the store. We came in there to waste some time and to look around and when I went to Sephora the two female associates and also the security man was there and never asked me if I needed help or did I have any questions and when I went up to ask a question I had found what I was looking for. When I brought my stuff from there I meet back up with my mom by the men clothes and I look up and guess who is right there watching followed me out of Sephora the security so my mom asked him where the hats were and when he answered it he act like we were bothering him. But since you want to follow us when we aren’t stealing you will be asked questions. Then we went over to the shoes and when I look up again he is right there pretending to organize the shoes while talking to another associate. When we went to the checkout line he was right there talking to the other security guy that sits at the end of the self checkout I didn’t even feel comfortable going to self checkout because of him when all I had was one item so I waited in line. But the cashier was really nice. I will never come back to this Kohl’s again that man made me and my mom very uncomfortable when we wasn’t even doing anything but got racially profiled and I don’t appreciate that because I have never stole in my life I work at Walmart so I know what stealing gets you. I get it is his job but to follow us everywhere we go even to the checkout line when I know you guys got a camera system and people sitting back there watching so you could see if we’re stealing. And now reading the other reviews I know I am not tripping don’t come to this Kohl’s unless you want to get racially profiled and followed around while...
Read moreIt's a "department " store if one uses a very broad definition. Its designed and run more like discount stores like Ross or TJ Maxx. It does have Sephora in it but theres a full size Sephora a block away where you get Sephora personneland can use your Sephora credit card. I've never really found any clothes there that appeal to me. They just seem out of step somehow and bad quality. They over priced their items and then put them on sale to convince you that it's a great deal but look very carefully because 90% of the time you can better quality at a better price elsewhere. I also am not a fan of their checkout system. Usually in department stores there are cashier registers in various area of the store. Granted this is not a huge store but it only has cash registers up front, exactly run like a TJ Maxx or Ross. I go there frankly, because it's the closest place to my home if I need to return Amazon package. Take a look at the photos and video i attached. The large majority of customers where only there to return Amazon items, not to actually shop there. They try to get you to buy something by giving you a 25% off coupon after you use their Amazon return. They need to bribe people to buy items. During my last visit, the clerks was very patient with a customer in front of me who kept arguing with him over issues only Amazon could resolve. It's just a place to drop off returns. Theres not a large selection of items in the store. Each department is quite small, for example home goods or various clothes selection. Frankly, I find a better...
