Deceptive, Unethical, and an Absolute Nightmare of a Dealership If I could rate this place zero stars, I would. Bridgeton Auto Mall turned what should have been a straightforward car purchase into one of the most frustrating, infuriating experiences I’ve ever had at a dealership. My father, who was interested in buying the car, put down a $1,000 refundable deposit on a Chevy Suburban in early September. From start to finish, this dealership disrespected both our time and our intelligence. My dad, who speaks broken English, had initially gone to the dealership alone when he put the deposit, but I joined him on the second (final) trip to ensure things were done fairly. What I found instead were nonstop attempts to manipulate and pressure us. The first red flag appeared during negotiations. I had my laptop open with Excel ready to do the math on any numbers they gave us. I was plugging in their numbers, and Excel was calculating down to the decimals. Yet, right in front of our eyes, they kept trying to manipulate the numbers on their plain white sheet of paper, inflating the costs beyond what the deal should have been. When I pointed out that their math was completely off, showing them the accurate breakdown in Excel, they got visibly irritated. They walked off into the manager’s office and didn’t come back out for almost 15 minutes. It was obvious they’d been caught trying to trick us, and they weren’t happy about it. Then came the *nonnegotiable* “BAM Vision fee” (or whatever they they call it) of nearly $2000. This fee was supposedly for wheels, tires, and broken keys—essentially just overpriced add-ons. When we told them we didn’t want any of these extras, they refused to remove it, saying the deal wouldn’t go through without it. We asked if we could negotiate the fee, but they insisted it was required for every car sale and told us to leave if we didn’t like it. Add-ons like these aren’t mandatory, and any reputable dealership knows this. It was just another way for them to pad the cost. Finally, the last straw: when we said we’d use our own financing to get a better rate, the salesperson shut us down entirely, saying the deal was off unless we financed through them. I’m pretty sure that’s illegal, but they didn’t care, doubling down on their ultimatum that we either finance with them or walk. That’s when we walked out. A total of six hours on the road—twice—to this dealership, only to get jerked around. After the deal fell apart, getting the deposit back was yet another ordeal. I asked for the check in person before we left but was told it would be mailed in a week. Weeks went by, and I still didn’t have it. Every follow-up call was a joke—the front desk lady would laugh whenever I asked to speak to a manager, and each “higher-up” I spoke with promised to look into it, only to ghost me afterward. I even texted a few managers (they gave me their number to follow up) only to be left on read with no response. After hours of wasted time and endless excuses, I finally got my check on October 22. It took a month and a half, endless hours on the phone, emails, text, and escalating to a high-level managers to get our money back. Thankfully one manager (Autumn) took care of it. All love to her, but everyone else at this dealership? Fraudulent, unprofessional, and flat-out unethical. Bridgeton Auto Mall isn’t just poorly run; it’s a place that treats customers with zero respect and relies on aggressive, borderline illegal tactics to pressure people. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere that values integrity and professionalism.

On Tuesday, January 14th, I visited BAM to test drive a vehicle. During the initial discussion, the salesperson informed me that the tire pressure light was on but assured me it just needed air. However, less than a minute into the test drive, the traction control light turned on. This was concerning, as it indicated a potential issue with the car. The salesperson appeared unaware of this problem. I immediately informed them that I wasn’t interested in purchasing a vehicle with mechanical issues. I left the dealership but received a call shortly after, during which I was told that the tire was flat due to the cold weather and snow. They also said the front tire was bigger than the rest which could have been a reason the light came on. They refilled the tire with air, and we took another test drive. This time, the car drove without any issues, so I decided to proceed with the purchase. The dealership promised to cover the cost of two new tires and assured me they would order them that day, with an expected delivery of 2-4 days. After being assured that my car’s tire was in good condition, I took it home. However, by Wednesday morning, the tire appeared underinflated. I visited the nearest Wawa to address the issue, only to discover that the tire had completely de-beaded. I contacted the dealership, and they promptly arranged for a tow. Once again, they stated the tires would be in 2-4 days. I diligently called daily for updates, and each time, I was told that my car would be ready the following day. This pattern continued until January 23rd, resulting in a total of 9 days without my vehicle. When I finally retrieved my car, I noticed that the front tire had not been replaced as promised. Additionally, the rims and door handles were unclean, and the passenger seat was in an unacceptable condition. It was evident that the vehicle had not been properly cleaned before being returned to me. Concerned about the potential impact of incorrect tire sizes, I visited a nearby Mavis Tire. The technician informed me that using improperly sized tires can damage the transfer case—a fact the dealership should have been aware of. In summary, this dealership’s service quality has significantly declined from its previous standards. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend their services to my worst enemy! Buyers beware.

Here's a long explanation of the well deserved 5 star rating from me. And let me tell you, I'm not easily impressed. You'll read why further down. I live in Maryland. Bridgeton Auto Mall was well worth my drive. Monty, Jamal and the finance and sales managers are very easy to work with. They were patient and very kind, answering all of my questions. They promised to fix a few minor things we saw when my husband (former Honda mechanic and diesel mechanic) went over the car with a fine tooth comb. When we went to take delivery of the car, everything they committed to doing for me was done. I was in the automotive industry (management) for 16 years. I did not share this information until we were well into the deal. Sometimes, especially as a female, it's just better to see how it goes. That way I can see how they treat me as a customer. That sets the tone of the transaction. Prior to coming here, I spoke to no less than 25 different dealerships about a few different types of vehicles. I was undecided until I saw this car. Internet pricing was what they advertised, which is more than I can say for 25 other dealerships. What a joke. Those other dealerships are why people hate car salespeople, and buying a vehicle in general. The team at BAM are top notch on every level, and honestly, a pleasure to talk to. I'll buy another car here in a year. Ladies, if you want to be treated as a woman that can handle her own business buying a vehicle by herself, you need to head on over to the Cadillac GMC building. Bonus points for having female sales reps on the floor. I've sold many a car to women in hard situations that would rather deal with another female. This is your safe spot, ladies. Everyone here gets it. And that's hard to find. I just had my first service a few days ago. Luis in service really makes you feel valued as a customer. He updated me a few times, and I was in and out in under an hour. Unfortunately I had to head out, so I didn't have time for the wash and vac, but I'll take them up on it next time. Another A+ in my book!

If there was a way to leave less than 1 star, I would....

As much as I love my new vehicle, I would NEVER recommend this dealership to anyone. The ONLY reason they ended up with my business was because they were the only dealership that had the make and model with the options that I wanted and I looked for a few months. I figured if I was going to spend what I did, I wanted to get exactly what I wanted. However, it’s been nothing but a nightmare since the beginning of February. It’s a long story, but stay with me if you are considering a vehicle from BAM. Here are the issues I experienced with this whole transaction. I went to the dealership with a full preapproval, a trade in and a significant down payment-yet they still ran my credit through numerous finance companies which caused a significant decrease in my score. This was even after I told them numerous times I was going with the bank I already had an approval from because I knew what my payment was going to be. I expected an update on the multiple items that needed to be addressed after the purchase, but was only hounded to come bring an additional $1000 because even though everyone was made aware of the fact that we did not have a non-Dodge vehicle in our names, I was continuously requested to provide a registration for a non Dodge or Jeep vehicle to get an additional $1000 rebate which was included as part of the deal they made EVEN though they were told that rebate would not apply to us. The website advertised the vehicle as having about 1000 miles (or less) on it yet it had over 6k on it. I printed out the information on the vehicle to compare to others I was looking at. The drivers side running board is severely damaged with gouges from whoever had been using the vehicle by apparently hitting some thing or running up against a curb. I requested that it be replaced - nothing so far. There is a small screw cover missing on the arm of the captains seat in the second row - I requested it be repaired - nothing so far. There is a headlight or LED out on the drivers side or the wire is loose- it blinks sometimes. I requested they address it - still nothing..... The oil had to be changed already - an oil change was required right after I bought it. It was at 8% when they sold the vehicle to me (should have been done before I took delivery). The locking mechanism for the lug nuts is missing (on a brand new vehicle) I asked about it - nothing.... There is no inspection sticker on the vehicle and new vehicles usually come with a new vehicle sticker good for 5 years. I was bombarded by the sales girl (daily) even after telling her that I was extremely ill (actually ended up with pneumonia and almost in the hospital, yet she continued to call and text me daily) demanding a response over and over again which I consider truly insensitive and not very customer oriented. The payoff on my trade-in was sent to my old lender on 3/13/25 - 6 weeks after I traded in the vehicle (at the beginning of February). This cost me two additional automatic payments to come out of my account that I was not expecting. And when questioned about it, they could not provide a reason why it took so long to send the payoff. I called to try to speak with the sales manager and got her voicemail - left her a message and still have yet to receive a phone call back (that was March 17). Now I am getting text messages from someone else at the dealership asking me to leave a positive review and when I fill out the survey for Jeep, if there were any issues, to allow them to be addressed first. When I relayed all of this to that person this past Monday, it was once again crickets 🦗 Take your business and your money somewhere else! I had a gut feeling that this was the same old Bob Novick service and experience but due to “new ownership”, I thought maybe it would be better … Always trust...

I wish I could give negative Stars. Worst experience in purchasing a vehicle in my life. Let me start with saying that I found my dream vehicle at this dealership. I live in Wyoming, so it wasn’t possible for me to travel 1700+ miles to look at the vehicle. I thought I could trust the process and trust the dealership to tell me about the vehicle. I was wrong. If you are in my position, DO NOT trust this dealership. I had the vehicle delivered and it had a horrible hard water staining all over the paint and the glass. I had to pay close to $2000 for paint restoration. It also had a huge dent in the hood that wasn’t disclosed when I asked about dents/dings and any other imperfections. I understand I was purchasing a used vehicle, but I expected to be told the truth and didn’t expect them to purposely hide things from me. If only the issues went away after the truck was delivered… A couple weeks before my temporary tags expired, I called the dealership and talked to the title clerk. I was told very rudely that I needed to be patient and that things were being worked on. She let me know that nothing was needed and that I would just get my plates in the mail when it was completed. I was contacted the day before my plates expired to then be told that they needed me to complete a VIN Inspection (which I was told at the beginning wouldn’t be needed due to them using a tag agency to complete the documentation.) I tried contacting the title clerk 4 times and was ignored while trying to get an update or an extension on my temp tag. I spent a week and a half without a vehicle, having to Uber to work or find rides from friends and family. I finally called and got in touch with the manager, Matt. He was very helpful at first and we found that the paperwork was still sitting in the title office without being processed. Once I got a new temp tag, I was only given 20 days in extension so at this point, I was close to having expired plates again. Matt was able to get the title sent to the tag agency, but then he fell off the face of the earth as well and hasn’t responded to me. I had to start digging and figure out where my title work was without any help from the dealership, as well as without a vehicle because at this point I was uber-ing again due to expired tags. I was able to get in touch with the tag agency and get my plates by waiting in line at the courthouse for over 2 hours because the dealership didn’t send all the necessary paperwork to the tag agency. The dealership charged me $480 (mandatory cost) for them to do my plates and tags and the total cost was about $175 less once everything was said and done. They ripped me off just like they probably rip every other customer that walks in the dealership. Don’t trust this company, and don’t purchase from this company if you can get the vehicle anywhere else.
