Very Very disappointed..... I am a regular shopper at Hobby Lobby and before today would tell anyone who'd ask me, that it was my all time favorite store. However, I have never been more disappointed with my shopping experience as I was today. If you ask anyone who has small children, it is difficult to get out to shop. So, today I found myself brave enough to tackle going to the "craft store" with my two daughters, ages 3 and two months. After making my way to the back of the store, my three year old needed to use the potty. I politely asked the woman in the jewelry department where the restrooms were located. To which I got a look of inconvience and a quick reply "over there." After using the restroom and returning to my cart of merchandise, we proceeded to finish our shopping in the jewelry department. We paced the isles looking for the items I needed only to have the woman staring at us. Never once did she ask if I was finding what I needed (to which I wasn't) or if she could help me in any way. However, she have the audacity to say something to my three year old who was standing right next to me about her touching the items and how each had a specific number on them. I understand she had organized the department, and I also understand that I am the mother and I was standing right beside my daughter making sure she was returning the items where she found them and that she didn't take or break anything that wasn't hers. I watched as my three year old burst into tears, as the woman said "I didn't embarrass her did I?" I literally turned around and left the department, biting my tongue because I knew I'd say something I'd regret. I should have left my cart right there and walked out of the store empty handed. (If it wasn't so difficult to shop with an infant and a toddler I would have) I, however, proceeded to the checkout, (without the items I still needed), to pay for what I had found. I told the cashier it's unfortunate the experience I had today, because I love hobby lobby and the things they stand for. Thank you lady for ruining my first shopping experience out with baby #2, I really hope you treat the next customer with a little more respect. I'm very very...
Read moreActually really embarrassed. I was on my way home from work and stopped in to get a few things for costumes due to not living around a hobby lobby. I realized I didn’t have my wallet with me. I asked before I walked anywhere in the store if I had my check book if I could pay for my things or if they had Apple Pay. I expressed I didn’t have my ID because it was in my wallet at home 30 minutes away. I was getting fabric and didn’t want them to cut it if they couldn’t take my form of payment. I was actually on the phone with my husband when I asked. I was told no problem by a very nice girl but if he could send a picture with the numbers and my photo I should be okay. I did my shopping and get to register as she said I showed my ID on my phone to the new checker who called her manager over. He told me that there is no way he can accept my payment this way. I was embarrassed and wanted to cry because I tried to avoid this and don’t do well with conflict. I asked if I could by a gift card online and pay for my things that way and they said they don’t have a way to scan it. A nice lady offered to pay for my things and venmo her money or give her a check. I gave her extra on the check for literally saving my husband to have to try and drive out to Bridgton from Illinois to avoid leaving cut fabric behind that the store most likely would have to discount to sell. Super upset I was put in this position when I tried to do the right thing by asking before shopping. I love hobby lobby but I will not return to this location most likely. I understand I didn’t have my wallet but I would have just went home and came another day if they couldn’t accept checks without an ID. That’s all I had on me and debit card on Apple Pay. Thank you to the customer Ashley...
Read moreI'm a major fan of hobby lobby, they have so much stuff there to do really just about anything, make anything, and learn how to do artsy stuff, I could just look around that store forever but I was seriously disgusted by the manager at this location. Sheds older woman more on the heavy side with very short hair that was obviously dyed.. And it's a redish color..wears glasses. Just a for warning if you happen to walk into the store and see a lady matching this description working..i honestly would just turn around and leave. Even if I had a cart full of items that I really needed unwound leave the cart and go elsewhere. This woman glared at me the moment I walked into the store and then when I finally found my BF I was showing him something our daughter would like and was on sale so we were actually about to purchase it when that woman came to us rude as could be and she made sure that I saw her trying to look into my purse as if I stole something. I've never stole a thing in my life! We tried to ease up her absolute negative ora and asked her a question about a product they may have and before we could even finish asking the question before she rudely interrupted shouting at us "NO WE DONT" at this point we left everything and left the store. I'll NEVER go to this...
