This is my local branch and I love it.
I mainly use the Libby and Hoolpa apps and do everything electronic (you can do everything from their app and app partners!). I love borrowing the ebooks and reading them on my kindle app. I also love that I can join the reading programs and do it all from my phone.
When I do go into a branch it is usually to attend the book club event. This branch has an established group there and they are very inviting. A library staff member moderates the session and keeps the conversation going.
I've also used the computers and small conference rooms. They have a large computer area with lots of computers. It's easy to login with your library card and you start with 1 hour of time. If noone else is waiting, you can use it longer. You can also print from your computer. The conference rooms are similar. 1 hour timeframe and you can put your name on the list. If they are in use, they will give you a buzzer and you can go in after that person. I've used the rooms for calls and interviews and it worked out well.
I highly recommend you check out your local branch. Events are free, reading spaces are set up for optimal enjoyment, staff is always helpful and friendly and they have many...
Read moreI was hopeful about using this library as a college student, especially since it is just 10 minutes from my campus and my on-campus library is currently closed. I stopped by to study for my finals, which are this week, and to use the computers to access my course materials.
After explaining that I am an out-of-state student and showing my proof of residence at my college, two staff members initially told me I could get a library card. They took ALL of my information, including my driver’s license. However, AFTER collecting everything, one of them called the manager and informed me that I could not register for a library card after all, since my college is in “St. Charles County” and this is a “St. Louis County” library.
One of the ladies told me that I was not able to use the computers or study there that day. I was extremely disappointed with the service and the fact that there was no effort made to find an alternative or acknowledge the mix-up—especially AFTER the same lady initially told me I would be eligible for a card and able to study there and use the computers there that day.
I hope the library staff can improve clarity around eligibility policies and be more understanding with other students in...
Read moreThe staff are very helpful and nice,
Theyre are often people who come in and allow children to scream and play about without any supervision,
They're are people with disabilities who come in and moan loudly also. They can't do much about these two things so I'd say just bring headphones.
The computer section are often visited bye creepy old men with pedophillia vibes radiating off them. (Watch your kids like a hawk)
Other than those reasons I find the books here in great condition and they often have what I'm looking for,
the childrens section is clean and my nieces and...
