Longplayer Stereo Center — Local services in Bridgton

Stopped in to check out the place because there aren’t many hifi stores around, especially in Maine. Richard the owner joked that I was casing the joint 😂 Can’t blame him. I was wearing all black and suspicious looking 👀 😆 We actually got talking for like a good half hour or more though about different equipment that I have and I asked him about some of the equipment in the store as well as sharing some background of each other as it pertained to hifi, professional work, and experiences, etc. etc. I will be going back at some point and hopefully try out some equipment for purchasing later on. I’m intrigued in the tube system he has. He seems to deal a lot in home grown American 🇺🇸 equipment/products, so that’s refreshing. Sadly, I didn’t take pictures like I normally do. Guess I got too busy talking.

Richard also helped me figure out what probably is the issue with my record player and how I could fix the constant skipping...

Was pretty stoked when I first went in. Staff seemed rather direct but in a refreshing way and got me on my way. However, he will close early whenever he wants without any public notice. If you’re more of a late riser, like me, you’re better off going to a big box store. Closed 90 min early on 1/21/23. Perhaps they should have a Facebook page or something to keep people updated. Was looking to become a regular, but not anymore.

I mean, if you can’t afford to stay open, I get it, but very unreliable. Don’t think I’ll be venturing in anymore.
