I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting Smokers Depot in Brighton, and let me tell you, it was a complete disaster from start to finish. If youâre looking for a place that combines poor service with a dismal atmosphere, then congratulations! Youâve found it. As soon as I stepped inside, I was hit by a wall of stale smoke that felt like it was trying to choke me into submission. The interior looked like it hadnât seen a broom in yearsâdust and grime were everywhere, creating an atmosphere that was less âretail storeâ and more âabandoned shack.â Itâs hard to believe this place is still open for business with such a lack of upkeep. Now, letâs talk about the employeesâor rather, the lack of professionalism displayed by them. I was greeted by a young girl member who seemed more interested in scrolling through their phone than helping customers. When I approached the counter, they barely looked up, giving off an air of complete indifference. I had to repeat my question about a product three times before I finally got a half-hearted answer that left me more confused than informed. Another employee was busy chatting with a friend who had just walked in, completely ignoring the line of customers waiting to be served. It was as if they thought they were in a cafĂ© rather than a retail store. I stood there, watching as they laughed and joked while I waited, feeling increasingly frustrated. Customer service? More like customer neglect. When I finally made my way to the register, I was met with yet another example of incompetence. The cashier seemed to struggle with the register, fumbling with buttons and muttering under their breath. I stood there, tapping my foot, as they held up the line for what felt like an eternity. It was beyond frustrating, and I couldnât help but think that if they paid even half as much attention to their jobs as they did to their phones, we might be in a different situation.
And then thereâs Tony, the owner, who seems to embody everything wrong with this place. He wandered around with an air of superiority, oblivious to the chaos happening right under his nose. When I finally spotted him, I couldnât help but wonder how someone so disengaged could run a business at all. His lack of involvement and care for his employeesâ performanceâand therefore, the customersâwas painfully obvious. Itâs clear that he doesnât prioritize training or professionalism, which only adds to the overall disaster that is Smokers Depot.
In summary, my experience at Smokers Depot was marred by inept employees and a disengaged owner who clearly has no clue how to run a business. If you value your time and money, steer clear of this establishment. There are far better places out there that actually care about their customersâand donât have an owner like Tony who sucks the life out of every interaction. Save yourself the headache and find somewhere...
Read moreDon't fall for "discounts". Second time now in a month some thing was labeled clearance or 40% off and, when the owner looked up what he paid, told me he would need to charge full price because "he wouldnt be making any money" Ok, then don't have it in the section marked 40%off. Similar situation with another product shortly thereafter. I purchased a product made from glass and he didnt wrap it up (as they have every other time) I had to ask and was met with annoyance. Its a coin flip as to whether you have a pleasant experience or leave upset. It appears the owner (or at least manager) is the problem. The other clerks are very helpful and on point. Not the female that works there. She seems to not want to be there. Thats my...

Each time Megan was kind and helpful! She followed up with the owners as she said she would. I was so frustrated and Megan made it such an easy actually enjoyable experience. They have a large selection at fair prices. But for me what makes me come back to a store is the level of customer service & they're...
