Here waiting for grocery pickup right now. We originally had the order scheduled for Friday between 6-7 and got a call at 6 that it would not be ready until 9:00 at night. Gave us the option to wait for the email confirmation or pick up Saturday at noon. So we decided to move it to Saturday at noon. Cue an email @ 6:30 that out order is ready... well we had already switch plans and decided to keep the noon appointment.
We arrive at 12:05 and call in, it should be ready right? It was done at 6:30 the night before. It’s now been an hour since we called in. An hour! I called back in asking where our groceries are, and they said they are coming out right now. They didn’t ask who I was, what spot I was in, they had no clue who I was, but just go ahead and lie to me, that makes everything ok. I will not be doing grocery pick up from here again, first time and last time. Will gladly pay more for the groceries at giant eagle next time.
EDIT:
After waiting 1 hour 20 min for our groceries to come out (that should have been ready @6:30 the night before mind you). We arrive home and put away all our the food only to realize we are missing almost $60 worth of stuff!!! That’s on top of the items that were out of stock and not substituted. How do you miss that much stuff! We call and have to talk to 3 different people before we get to someone who can help us to get a refund. Only for them to say, it’s sitting right here in the cooler, they didn’t look here when they brought out your order. This was a HORRIBLE showing of their grocery pick up. I do not recommend anyone else have to go through this. We went out of our way (25 min drive) to give them a chance because it’s the first Meijer in our area and they showed that they are not capable to handle something like this. It was almost a 3 hour endeavor to get groceries that should have been ready the night before. Horrible,...

Fast forward a few months: variety of products seem to never change and variety stays the same if not shrinking specifically with mens clothing and shoes as well as kitchen stuff (knives and thermometers to be specific) but all other products are literally the same at this point without much variety. Definitely still choice over Walmart but between here and target I'd say it's pretty equal at this point however since we still for some horrible reason think that your going to get COVID if your out past 10pm I have to go with this store because it's open til 12 which with my job is still almost impossible to make the cutoff.
Remember when Walmart was open til 2 or 3 and the small remembrance of 24 hour stores. We are pathetic and soft anymore and people like me are effected very negatively with the actions that have been taken due to the sheepishly stupid conformity of the population. I give the population a real service Just so i can do all shopping in one day which is my day off so in reality what's a day off? I'm sure many people have the answer to that since nobody seems to remember what a job let alone working feels like. It's the flu people.....nothing new minus the fact this disease is man made in a lab.....hmmm......open your history books. Plenty of examples of flu destroying communities around the world and in OUR country. Open your eyes. We are the issue today stop pointing...
Read moreMeier is my grocery store. The best way to describe it, imagine Walmart with a more genteel clientele, and higher quality foods to match. Don't get me wrong, I am a Walmart loyalist. There are certain things you go to Walmart for, and certain things you go to Meijer for. I started shopping for groceries less often at Walmart when it seemed like every food product that I liked and purchased there would no longer be sold there days later. If I was a paranoid man, I'd seriously think the store managers were getting copies of my receipts and immediately advising the Walmart buyers to stop shelving those items. It was freaky.
Meijer has a varied selection of "stuff" other than food, including some quality clothing. I was in one store that had Levi's 501s for sale (not Levi's "Signature"), and I have bought my last three pairs of work boots for very good prices. Generally, Meijer's prices are competitive with Walmart and Amazon, and offer frequent sales. Be cautious though: the prices on the shelves often do not match those on the register. I have had several such instances where the price that came up when I scanned an it was wrong, one night to the point the manager came over and apologized. To their credit, they give the cashier's that oversee the self check out a LOT of discretion, and unless you are some crack pot who claims everything item in his cart is incorrectly priced, they will accept your representation of the price and ring it up...
