I always make sure to stop by when I’m in Brookings as I have had wonderful experiences every time! The cashier/owner is SO helpful and knowledgeable about what is in store! Additionally, the selection is really nice and there’s truly something for everyone - board games, books, trading cards, warhammer items, card games, fish and fish supplies, and much much more!

The store is very lived in which I find very fun and cozy, but it may be overwhelming to some. Additionally, there are kitties roaming about which I LOVE!!! But with cats come smells and allergens which some may find less than preferable. That being said, I have pretty hardcore asthma and I do just fine in here for 30-45 minutes before I start feeling “off”! I have never left empty handed and actively look forward to stopping in and seeing what goodies I will find! Physically could not stay in the store due to the heinous stench of cat pee / ammonia. I walked in briefly, hoping it would sorta go away, but it only got more and more nauseating. I couldn’t be in there longer than a minute. I don’t know how this store has been open for so long — the other reviews show that it is obviously not a one time thing. Definitely against some sort of safety thing. I am not from South Dakota. If they actually cleaned up the shop and got rid of the foul smell, it would be cool — they seemed to have a nice collection. I was really looking forward to visiting this store, but was immediately taken aback by a very strong odor—cat urine—as soon as I walked in. It was overwhelming and made it incredibly difficult to stay. Given that this is a space meant for games and potentially families with children, cleanliness is especially important. I strongly recommend a deep cleaning of the carpet and space overall, as the current condition doesn’t feel sanitary, especially for young kids who may sit or play on the floor.
