Before I made the reservation I was skeptical because there are ZERO photographs of the "tent spots" online. When I arrived I went directly to the check in lobby where I walked in on the hostess and a customer arguing with each other and the customer was wanting a refund for two nights that he pre-paid for but didn't want. She condescendingly denied him the refund and he left upset. When It was my turn in line the hostess took a phone call in the middle of my transaction and spent 3-5 minutes telling me I needed to wait. (The check in booth is a VERY small room with no AC and it was extremely hot and uncomfortable so I was trying to get out of there as quickly as possible.)

After checking in I traveled down to the tent sites where I was shocked to see a dead seagull in the middle of the parking area (It remained there for my 4 day stay). Also, The tent camping spots were crammed between a public street (on the back) and a large gravel parking spot (in the front). The spots were EXTREMELY small (just large enough for a tent, fire pit, and picnic table) and had ZERO privacy from the spots on either side.

There was a security company that would drive around the campsite every half an hour or so. Which at first I thought was great until it got dark and the security officer would shine his bright light into the campsite (even when everyone was asleep a light would pass through the tents which made for a VERY lousy sleeping environment.)

The first day of our stay was extremely windy and with no tree cover our tent was folded over on it self pressed against the ground 90% of the time (I am amazed that a pole didn't snap.)

The campsite is also located near a coast guard base (which would announce over loudspeaker when meals were being served and whenever a boat entered or left the docks at any time of day). Starting at around 6:00AM. The second day the coast guard had a helicopter land in the field on the other side of the road behind the campsite. As it was leaving the helicopter flew DIRECTLY over the campsite which obliterated about half of it. Peoples tents were tossed all around the parking lot (poles snapped), and peoples personal belongings were broken and flung into the river.

The bathrooms were dirty and the toilets were clogged 1/2 the time I was staying there with toiletries that were poorly stocked despite there being a "maintenance" truck circling the campsite almost constantly.

This was one of the WORST camping experiences I have ever had and I will not be going back to this site...

My family and I have come here off and on for 30 years. We used to frequent alot more when life was more simple no cell phones and wifi taking up our time. We used to catch bottom fish by the icechest and our biggest concern was wether or not there would be enough open dirt for us to circle the campers near the jetty. Location wise, it really doesn't get much better everything a family could need to have a great campout is here..river, beach, boats, fishing, food, shops (Not one of these are amenities that the campground is responsible for) I understand that alot has changed over the years and more rules are needed these days to keep everyone in check so to speak. Most of the elders who used to bring us here as children have since passed on and Lord knows we are not the same generation, but thankfully we pulled it together this week and were able to get the family back to Brookings. We brought 5 r.v.s and two tent spaces to the rv park, reservations were made months in advance. Unfortunately one member of our party showed up ten minutes before check in at 1250 pm. He found the jetty dirt lot completely empty and pulled up to his reserved space. He was charged an extra $10 on the spot for not reading the rules as he pulled in. Also it should be mentioned our stay was from Monday-friday (non weekend) When I arrived a couple days later on a wednesday I was assigned a spot that I could not fit my rv in. Since every spot around me ( at 4pm) was open I requested a different spot. I was given a prompt no and told those spots were reserved because they were trying to hire a camp host?? Of course this was not the case, no-one ever came for the requested spots. At the end of our stay we asked to stay another night, they said sure but you will now need to move your camp to the previously requested spots that had never been filled because she had now booked someone in the space we squeezed into.. maybe I upset the camp host with my previous requests.. I don't know.. but It saddens me that this beautiful place is held hostage by management who collect fees and put nothing back onto their business customer service or otherwise. Isn't the idea to try to draw tourist to your gorgeous community? I love this place we are not going to stop coming over this (the camp hosts know this) but I really do hope it doesn't get any worse. It is very rare to find an RV spot beachfront that has so many Open Spaces in the middle of June, it's my opinion that management is likely the...

6/27 Wow. So we called in ahead to see if we would have an open space available since we were heading from Grants Pass to Brookings. We did not reach anybody but left a message on the answering machine. They called us back within a few hours and let us know that they had a spot for us. We arrived at 4 pm and found our spot. The park is a bit trashy, and it appeared to be full of people that lived there in the park...more like a gravel parking lot. Fine.. whatever, I backed into my spot and found that there were about 30-40 piles of dog poop covering the entire area. I couldn't even get out to hook up...nor would I. I called the office and got no response and no answering machine. Thankfully we called Harris Beach and they had some open spots. I called the office again and this time I got an answering machine... So I explained that we had to leave because the place was trashy and the dog poop issues etc.. I asked them to call me back and please to refund us our money and that we were leaving. Fast forward.... 7/25 I was going through my voicemails and came across a message telling... Yelling at me that I was not welcome back in the park and that I left a whole lot of dog crap all over the place and that.... long message ripping me a new one. Seriously though. Get it straight. Yes, call the person responsible for the mess. But figure it out first and for Gods sake...clean up the trash and show some real pictures of your lot! I have called a dozen times to let them know that they called the wrong person and want a refund... No machine! Arg!! Anyhow, this is not a real RV Park. It is a gravel lot...

5 stars with no second thoughts or regrets. Whomever said this place was crowded and noisy must have been there right after a Metallica concert let out because it sure wasn’t that this week for us. Yes, in the day time there will be people walking their dogs along the beach, kids enjoying the surf and the occasional car drive by with their woofers vibrating. At night, it was quiet. No highway noise, no boom boxes, no redneck tuning up their Chevy, just the wonderful sound of the ocean accompanied by a seagull or two. In fact, it was extremely quiet (and clean) for being a state beach. They limit the traffic after 10:00 p.m. which makes it quieter than most RV Resorts. The space width and depth are comparable to what you’d get at an RV park. They’re reasonably level with hard pan gravel. Power and water pressure is stable and they provide 20/30/50 amp connections. The sewer connection is threaded but be aware, the drop pipe is more in the center of your site on the L/H side than the rear. We needed to run a length of two drain hoses to connect the rear discharge on our 38’ coach to the sewer drop. I think it was plumbed more with trailers in mind that have their plumbing in front of their axles. There’s pull through sites that give you a great view of the ocean and back in sites that give you a great view of the pull in sites who have a great view of the ocean. Unless your plan is to spend all day staring at the ocean, the back in sites are fine, just take a chair to the beach if you want a better view. I’d stay here again.

Love this place full hookups and you park looking at the ocean. Lots of empty spaces this time of the year.

Beachfront RV Park exceeded my expectations. I was here for a week. The Public parking area that’s open from 7am to 10pm had reviews of people here early at 6am making noise, and too many people here at sunset. It was peaceful in the morning I noticed and not very many people were even outside at 8am, probably because they were still doing breakfast & coffee! Evenings were great and quiet. The public visiting @ 9:30-10pm were very respectful of all of us campers. Other reviews of the restrooms being a mess from too much public use? After 7 days of being here, I was impressed that the RV Park staff always kept it clean. Thank you! No, the spaces are not too close together. I’m on my awning side relaxing next to the picnic table and small fence, and my neighbor is on the other side of their RV. Great privacy. The power, water, and sewer service was great. There are several paths to walk. The main path up by the public parking is good for walking or just sitting on the cement barrier to look at the ocean. The path up the jetty gave me a great view of the RV Park. Walking the beach 3 times a day was relaxing and fun. The kids out there enjoy putting together forts with the washed up wood logs & sand castles. There are a couple of restaurants down here within walking distance, and a grocery store back up on the 101 was only a 2 min drive away to restock the refrigerator. I will definitely stay here again when I’m on the Oregon coast near Brookings.
