Zip Scanners — Local services in Brooklyn Center

Buyer beware! If you order a scanner from these people, you will likely not receive it! I first off want to say that I had previously ordered a scanner from them a few years back and didn’t have any issues but that’s not the case anymore. I ordered a scanner a few months back and it was out of stock, that was fine but I waited a few weeks. After a month had gone by and other businesses had this scanner in stock I decided to contact them to see how much longer it was going to be until my scanner shipped. They never got back to me, I called and left voicemails, I messaged them, I emailed them, I scheduled callbacks and no response. I finally left them a voicemail threatening to dispute my charge due to no response and nothing received, and finally the order was canceled.

Now here we are in October, I ordered a scanner that was in stock and two gps units. The gps units showed up within 4 days but the scanner has yet to show up. I contacted them after I had received the gps units and they responded, “the scanner shipped a day later than the gps units and will be there a day later”. I waited and I never received any tracking information and the scanner never showed up. I’ve tried calling, scheduling callbacks, messaging, emailing and never got any response. I told them to either cancel my order, give me an update or I will dispute my charge and leave them this fine review. Well, no response at all! I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company because they will not respond to me and I should’ve received the scanner 10 days ago according to the original call. Update 05/24/19 I am changing from four stars to five stars. I ordered an SDS100. Zip Scanners was amazing on this order. I had a tracking number in about five minuets after I placed my order. My order arrived a couple of days latter. I highly recommend Zip Scanners to anyone looking for a scanner.

I Purchased the Uniden SDS200 from Zip Scanners last weak. I am giving Zip Scanners 4 Star’s. I did not give them 5 stars because The customer service representative that answered the phone and helped me a few times before and after the sale didn’t go extremely well. I decided to send an email to Garrett to let him know I was not extremely happy with the Customer Service of one of his employees. Garrett called me right after receiving the email. He definitely made up for the problem. I am extremely amazed at the Customer Service he gave me and apologized for the situation. The radio was shipped extremely fast and it arrived packed very well. The radio was absolutely awesome. I couldn’t say enough good things about the Uniden SDS200. There has been some talk on the quality of the sound of the SDS200. I will tell you the quality of the sound is amazing. It sounds great on P25 II trunking and analog conventional. I would highly recommend Zip Scanners to anyone wanting a Scanner. It really is not worth the effort to contact Zipscanners. No method is successful. Their packaging is less than acceptable. I had to contact the antenna distributor to learn something why the product was shipped as it was. It arrived damaged and bent.

Dealing with UPS is another dilemma, as the claim process is so complicated UPS each time autatically rejects my description of the product and damage and in capital red letters demand more information. For me it's a $50 mistake.

I was getting ready to buy another UNIDEN or Whistler scanner. No chance from Zipscanners.

The SDS200 is NOT AN IMPROVEMENT OVER THE HP1. The small diameter knobs with closely spaces detents, no matter how carefully they are used will soon fail. The speaker on the bottom is useless. Zipscanners response was to acknowledge the problem, and buy a standalone speaker. It is my opinion the graphics on the SDS200 are not as good as the HP1.

Zipscanners support is a joke. Two days before the radio arrived Zipscanners sent me a email saying it was yet sent, however they charged my card $1,347.
