Pros: The food was amazing. My friends and I ordered different meals from both sides of the menu. The Menu offers West African food and East African food. Each meal was amazing. The owner was really nice. She walked out to greet us and talked about her menu. Some of the food is made to order. So will take a while (45-60min) to cook so be ready to wait. Definitely a take out restaurant unless the cons and prep time get better.
Cons: The male waiter was awful. He was very rude, became agitated when we asked to explain the menu, He kept saying this is African food. Duh!! We know that but some of my friends wanted to know the ingredients in certain meals. He didn't ask for something to drink only brought waters 10min after taking our orders. When my friend asked for a different drink he pointed to the fridge without speaking. She had to walk over to the fridge to obtain her own drink. Please owner don't allow this guy to wait on tables. For a women to own the place the bathrooms look like a gas station bathrooms. Décor needs a fashionable eye.
Recommendations: Fire the male waiter or teach him costumer service, Please update the bathrooms. Let costumer know the meal prep time if over 30mins. Keep cooking food is amazing!! I only gave 3stars due to costumer service...
Read moreThis is the worst restaurant that I’ve ever been to in Minnesota . First of all ,I t’s in need of a deep cleaning . I ordered jollof rice with chicken and collard greens . The order of collard greens came with a choice of rice or fufu . I chose fufu . I was given rice . Simple accident , no problem . Here’s what turned my stomach ….. my order was bagged and tied . I carried it out to my car so when my daughter and I got into our car , we opened the bag . That’s when I realized that I’d been given rice instead of fufu. Again , no big deal . I go back inside and tell the cashier that I’d been given rice .Whoever the woman was that “prepared” my order wanted me to bring the rice back in to exchange it for the fufu that I had originally requested . I watched this cashier hand the rice over to the woman in the back . She then handed me the fufu , and put the rice into another order . Disgusting!!! The chicken had been reheated no less than 3 times or at least 3 days old . It was hard and tasteless . Never again . My total for that order was 32 dollars down the drain. Again , NEVER again . They reheat food over and over again and will give you things that other customers...
Read moreYou guys really need to work on your processes. I got my order mixed up with the attendant asking me on three different occasions what it was I ordered even when they had taken and entered my order. Also, with the food, I think it can be much better - the plantain I ordered was probably fried with the same oil used to fry the fish so it was really greasy. Please, take advantage of accessible services to really learn how to run a restaurant business and adopt a professional approach to processes - running an African restaurant in Minnesota is a big opportunity, don't throw it away by not being attentive to the small details. As it is, I can't take anyone who's not part of the community to go eat here because the service isn't just professional. If people pay, you should be ready to provide them top notch service unless the competition will take you out of business very soon. And finally, you're an ambassador for African and black owned businesses - we need to start operating in ways where people take is serious as real entrants into the...
