We had issues with our room block for almost a year before our wedding, and felt disregarded and unheard for our stay.
I made a room block at this hotel because it was attached to Earle Brown Heritage Center, which is where we were having our wedding. We had many out of town guests, but were unsure how many would want to stay in the hotel as opposed to other accommodations. We were told that we would be able to add rooms on to our block as needed.
We had issues almost immediately. Every time one of our guests called, it was incredibly difficult for them to book in our room block. Staff was telling them that there were no more rooms in the block as early as November 2018 - which was surprising considering we had 25 rooms in the block but had only given the information to about 10 guests at that point. I called and booked 6 rooms the first time we heard there was trouble with the block, and even as the bride had difficulty getting on to the block.
My parents live close to the hotel, and my mother was able to add about 5 more rooms to the block at one point, but again, every time I called I got a different answer as to how many rooms were booked and how many were left. I was unable to get a list of guests that had booked in the block, and had to have my mother go there in person again to make sure that the rooms were being booked properly.
A reservation for a room that was made by a bridesmaid coming from New York was inexplicably mixed with my father's room. They had never met and there would have been no reason to add her to another person's room - she did not even know my father's first name until the day before the wedding so she would not have said it on the phone on accident. Luckily we caught the issue when we FINALLY received a list of reserved rooms on the block. There were other people that thought they had booked in our block and had explicitly named us while making reservations that ended up outside the block and were unable to take advantage of the discount offered by being in the block. When we got the final list, it turned out that only 21 of our 30 rooms in the block were booked, despite our diligence in checking with the hotel and adding extra rooms when they insisted the block was completely full.
My parents made arrangements to pay for our room the night of the wedding, but when we checked in later that same day they denied having any information about my parents paying for the room, even though we had been with my parents the day they gave all the information to the desk so we wouldn't have to worry about it. We had other issues with rooms and guests, including one couple that was staying an extra day and had to check out of the room at noon and check back in to the same room at 3 the same day for no discernible reason other than the front desk staff were unable to figure out how to extend their original stay an extra day more. (This was not an issue for other guests, who were able to stay extra days without having to check out and back in.)
As the bride and groom, we brought what we estimated to be about $6k in business to the hotel, and were sorely disappointed. In addition to all of the issues above, they refused to allow us to pay for a late checkout, and would not allow us even one extra hour to gather our things, even though we had gotten married the night before and wanted to say goodbye to our out of town guests, many of whom were leaving throughout the morning.
Inconsistent at best, and a blemish on an otherwise perfect weekend. If you are getting married at Earle Brown, I would suggest waiting until they finish building the new hotel across the street and get a room...
Read moreIf I could give a negative rating, I would! Torn furniture, loose shower head, smell of weed in the hallways.
The fire alarm went off a half hour before the end time for our free drink voucher, and the hotel bar wouldn't honor the ticket immediately afterwards since it was "after the end time".
The worst part of our stay was that an item went missing from our room and the hotel staff handled it abysmally. We were there for a wedding and we had a gift bag which contained: an envelope with a card, almost $300 in cash, and a couple of small irreplaceable wooden boxes. We left it out on the counter next to our lunch box, and as we were leaving for the wedding, we noticed it was missing. Immediately reported it to the front desk who did an investigation and claimed there was nothing they could do because "they don't have cameras in the hallway" and there is "no proof that we ever had a gift bag in the room". How convenient.
They checked their access records and tried to put the blame on us because we had more keycards than we started with. The reason it showed more keycards is because ours had stopped working, so we went to the front desk to get new ones, several times. We were only asked for our room number, and no other verification of who we are or what name the room is under. All the cards were either in our possession the entire time or at the front desk after being exchanged. The only other people who had access to our room was the housekeeping staff, who denied everything. The hotel claims they searched the housekeeper and that she has worked for them for 13 years - this doesn't prove anything. In the amount of time that passed between when the item went missing and the time we noticed it, whoever took it had plenty of time to hide the items or get them away from the hotel. The bag didn't just grow lets and walk out of the room.
Tina the corporate manager I spoke to on the phone about this was extremely rude and dismissive and accused me of accusing her housekeeping staff of stealing it. I never once said they stole it - they could have taken it, or they could have left the door open while the housekeeper was cleaning and someone else could have walked in and taken it. In the end, since there is proof that their card is the only card that accessed our room, it comes down to the housekeeping/hotel's responsibility, whether it happened due to malicious intent or negligence.
Jason the front desk manager was nice when dealing with us but this was simply a facade. He told us multiple times that he would follow up with us and never did. We had to call multiple times and pester him to get anything useful done. He opened up a ticket with corporate and said we'd hear back later in the week. We called corporate a few days later only to find out that the ticket was closed with no resolution.
I guarantee you that if the roles were reversed and I had walked out with a towel or a microwave, they would be charging me an insane amount of money and probably prosecuting me for theft, even if there was no proof that I was the one taking the items.
I will never be staying here again and do not wish this kind of terrible experience upon anyone! If you value your time and possessions, stay away from this hotel at...
Read moreI don’t usually write long reviews, but my recent stay at the Embassy Suites in Brooklyn Center was so exceptional that I felt compelled to share my experience. From the moment I walked in to the day I checked out, every member of the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, comfortable, and completely at home.
Front Desk Staff – Warm, Professional, and Exceptionally Helpful
The front desk team was the first point of contact, and they absolutely set the tone for my entire stay. Check-in was a breeze, and they greeted me with such genuine smiles and positive energy that I immediately felt relaxed after a long day of travel. Every question I had—whether about local recommendations, directions, or hotel amenities—was answered thoroughly and with care. They were not only efficient but also friendly, attentive, and consistently willing to go the extra mile. It’s clear that they take pride in their work and truly care about each guest's experience.
Restaurant Staff – Incredible Service and Delicious Food
The restaurant staff deserves special recognition for their hospitality and professionalism. Every meal I had was served promptly and with a level of service you’d expect from a high-end dining establishment. The servers were attentive without being intrusive, always checking in at just the right times. They remembered my preferences after just one visit and treated me with warmth and kindness each morning at breakfast and during dinner in the evenings. You can tell they take real pride in both the food and the service, and it shows. The chefs also deserve a huge shoutout—the food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
Housekeeping – Impeccably Clean and Exceptionally Organized
I cannot praise the housekeeping staff enough. Not a single detail was overlooked—from neatly folded towels and perfectly made beds to spotless bathrooms and restocked amenities. I appreciated how respectful and courteous the housekeeping team was as well; they worked efficiently and always greeted me with a smile in the hallways. Their work added a layer of comfort and peace of mind that made a huge difference during my stay.
The entire Embassy Suites Brooklyn Center team deserves to be recognized for creating such a positive and welcoming atmosphere. It’s rare to find a hotel where every department works together so seamlessly to deliver a truly excellent guest experience, but that’s exactly what I found here. Whether you’re staying for business, leisure, or a little of both, I couldn’t recommend this location more. I will absolutely be returning on my next visit to the area—and recommending it to everyone I know.
Thank you again to the front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping teams. You made my stay...
