Caught so many lies. Spoke to sales guy several times before going about a Honda cr-v, he had several hours to check on the vehicle before I came out - tells me when I get there it went through service check but they needed to fix the door lock and had a flat tire so I couldn’t test drive. Tried to sign me up for finance without me looking at the vehicle. I said absolutely not. He then decided to fix the tire.. the air conditioner didn’t work and he said it just needed Freon.. when asking how much we could come off the original price he comes back with paperwork with not a dollar off. I said oh so you don’t want to make a deal. The car isn’t worth 4k over fair market value in excellent condition. When speaking to the manager he told me that it didn’t go through service yet and they don’t know what all it needs done so they can’t come off the price and sells guy told me 3 other people already came to look at the car.. how did they test drive with the flat tire? Also had non working brights, he wouldn’t allow me to test drive on highway, Told me they’d fix the one tire and the door but he lied bout that air conditioner that it just needed Freon when it didn’t go through service yet. He didn’t even know about the tire when I called at 11am and came at 3, plenty of time to add Freon and a tire before I got there. Why didn’t he do the Freon if he knew bout it before I got in if that was the case ..not breeding trust with me. If they wanted to make a deal they would do what was needed and be honest people. Don’t insult my intelligence as a woman trying to sell me a car I can’t see, not even take off a dollar. Just because it has low miles doesn’t mean it’s not a lemon that you’re trying to sell for top dollar just comparing it to other vehicles on market doesn’t make it worth it. The variable is the condition of that specific car. I would have respected them a lot more if they gave me a number off the sales price and didn’t lie to me. They tried all the shady tricks in the book and I didn’t fall for it. They don’t know how to sell cars. I say a number you say a number. They offered nothing and wasted my time sweating bullets bc of the bad ac rushing me to the location then telling me they weren’t ready. They seem like the type that will put patch work on it to get it off the lot and it fail out on someone. Be careful. Do a pre purchase inspection. They also refused to hook up to a scanner and show me the codes. “Bc they are honest” These dudes want top dollar for trash and do bare minimum for you and have zero respectful negotiating skills. Hyundai and Kia have the same engines by the way and they are trash in my opinion. I’m still disgusted by the way I was handled by both sales and manager. Was treated so well at Mac Haik today and it just made me regret ever going here. Don’t trust your daughter or wives to go here alone they will treat them like they are dumb and try to take advantage or maybe they only treat new car sales with respect, I don’t know. I went by expert advice on how to do a car deal and they weren’t dealing. Update: after leaving review I have received many calls saying someone is making online inquiries using my phone number (this is the only dealership I used my cell to call) your information is...
Read moreWhat good is a 10 year warranty (powertrain) if the service department sucks? Not worth a dang. My Tucson needed its first full visit back to the dealer - almost on its first birthday. The horns had failed. This being Houston; they probably had more use than other car horns will see in a lifetime thanks to our wonderful drivers. (One small visit for a very quiet nose that I was told was normal and has been fine from 500 to 14k miles)
This Trip:
Got there early - wondered around the lot. They unlocked the doors and saw me right at 7 per the schedule.
I barely had time to finish my coffee before they had my car back around with the parts on order. Projected for next week and they even offered to come get the car from work and bring it back to me - I work sort of around the corner from them.
The bad? If I would have been given the run around it would have given me an excuse to remove the front bumper myself (the reason for the need to pick up the car - easy fix but lots to remove to access) and install a train horn with a compressor. The wife is very happy they got the parts on the way (she did not want me having a train horn at all) and it should be fixed up by Monday or Tuesday (it is currently Thursday as I type this). It may have been Saturday but I am out of town on the parts ETA.
Previous buying experience: Sales - was great and I pretty much bought the car over txt messages - that was awesome! Smallest time on a dealer lot ever.
Finance team - credit to them for not running my info against every bank they have access too.. it was USAA vs HMF and Hyundai won. That said; check the contract twice. What I caught may have been an honest mistake but; just make sure everything is right and ask questions. They did make it right in the end - so there is that.
Previous Hyundai Car Ownership/Experience with Dealers and the brand in general: 2024 Tucson SEL (current), 2014 Elantra GT, 2010 Genesis Coupe, 2009 Elantra, 2006 Sonata, 2003 Elantra (Heavily Modified), 2002 Accent (Swapped in a 2.0 Beta for the 1.6 AphaII), 2001 Accent GS (that started it all over two decades ago). I also have a 2017 Kia currently. Hyundai stopped making minivans :--/
Update after the fix is done to see how well the pick up goes and if the bumper is put back on without damage. I 100% trust their techs over my ability to do that without...
Read moreEasily the best car buying experience I've ever had. I've been in a lot of dealerships, had some good experiences and some that have made me walk out the door. All other dealers should be taking notes from Brookshire.
I emailed to get more information about a vehicle in a specific color and Caleb emailed me almost instantly. Had a short chat over the phone with him where we discussed what they had and despite being a bit short on time that day I decided to head over for a test drive.
Caleb greeted me when I got there and without any fuss we did a quick but informative walkthrough of the car then did a quick drive. I loved the vehicle but they didn't have the color and interior I wanted on the lot. They had one coming in though. While we were doing the test drive they appraised my trade in. When we got back to the dealership I was handed my keys and told they would send me an email with a quote because they knew I didn't have a lot of time. Oh, and because I lived close to the dealership they were willing to deliver it to my house for free.
Absolutely zero pressure to stay and talk about getting a deal done. Absolutely zero hassling me to try and change my mind so they could get me into the finance office that day. The entire experience was incredibly laid back and they valued my time from the moment I stepped in the door.
I received the quote not long after getting home as well as an ETA on when the vehicle would arrive. The quote was detailed and and straightforward, with a line item for everything. There was nothing crazy in the quote and they didn't try to hide anything from me. Just a simple, easy quote. Exactly what I wanted.
Caleb delivered my vehicle to my house today. He brought it to me even though they had already closed for the day and even when I offered to push things back to the next day so he didn't have to stay late. He went above and beyond even when he didn't have to. Easily the best salesman I've ever worked with to purchase a vehicle.
If you are thinking about purchasing a vehicle and want an easy, laid back, no nonsense experience then you should absolutely go to Brookshire Hyundai. They treat their customers like people instead of...
